"This is the worst experience I’ve ever encountered in all my travels. Upon our arrival we found no one at the front desk and a gate pulled down to cover the window. There was a sign on the counter that read, “For after-hours check-in assistance, simply dial 500 from the lobby phone. A team member will be with you shortly.” Another sign stated Front Desk 24 hrs 7 days a week. That was quite simply a lie.
After multiple attempts calling the number, there was no answer and no one ever came. Someone that was passing through told us the staff lives there so they should be around. Nevertheless, no one ever answered and we were forced to leave to find another hotel. It is bad enough that we had to drive around looking for a place to spend the night, but when we requested a refund, the hotel refused because of their “cancellation policy”. Wait, we didn’t cancel, they didn’t fulfill their obligation to provide what was paid for. Moreover, there were still rooms available, so they weren’t sold out.
We paid for a hotel room, that cost them nothing. They obviously care more about taking unearned money than building a legitimate business. Their response speaks for itself; this is a shady and second rate hotel. I will never trust WoodSpring Suites or Choice Hotels again. Buyer beware.
Expedia was also no help, so we will be deleting our accounts with Expedia as well. Why use Expedia when they do not provide any protection or benefit and we can get the same or better deals elsewhere."
