"I had a wonderful solo getaway at Sands on Golden Lake. The ground floor room opened directly onto the beach, making launching my paddleboard super convenient. Rooms include a mini fridge and a self-serve complimentary breakfast (fresh eggs to cook, toast, and local Madawaska coffee). The resort has a cozy, rustic lodge with a fireplace. On-site dining is great—the fish and chips were delicious, and the dining room has lake views. Safe, welcoming, and scenic. Highly recommended!"

"It's a motel, so set your expectations accordingly. That said, it was clearly renovated recently and very clean. We got a "suite" with 3 beds which was ideal for us. We had a few questions/requests (how to work the AC, extra towel, and room was out of body wash) and the owner was extremely responsive each time, addressing the issue immediately. Note - The sign on the office door asks you to call if you need service. We walked to the office each time, and he finally asked us to call instead."
