"The staff was excellent. The hotel was clean but the ac in our room gave off a slight smell of mold. The ac was set at 78 and it was raining in Houston, so one can expect the room to be initially damp. However, all through the night I was coughing. At a minimum, the ac needs to be cleaned and the filter exchanged."

"When I got there the underside of the toilet had someone’s pubes on it. And the day I am checking out, I am interrupted in my shower by banging on the door. I look out and no one is there. I open the door and a member of the staff is yelling down the hall about checkout at 11 am. I am an IHG rewards member and had already called that morning at 8 am informing them I would be checking out late at 2 pm, so I thought maybe there was a mistake. "Overall, I think the room was clean, although it didn’t smell “fresh”. It just smelled kind of stale. The grab bar in the shower was corroded and moldy and that one neglected detail gave the whole room a kind of “yuck” feeling. I had two more nights to hook at the tail end of my trip and I hooked with another hotel because of that. The staff was friendly and I felt like the area was safe."
