"I needed a hotel for 2 nights near Lion's Gate Hospital. I just needed a clean, safe place to stay. This wasn't a luxury, fun holiday trip. I didn't want to pay $$$$$ for the two nights, and that's basically all I could find, then I found this place. It was the only place near LGH that met my budget.
Other Expedia reviews mentioned it was well renovated and very clean. I greatly dislike grubby hotel rooms, and my room was REALLY clean. No grubby marks on door edges, no dirty mirrors, bedside table CLEAN.
New desk and dresser/tv stand. New tv (which I never turned on). Very clean bedding. Comfortable bed and pillow. Nice soap, shampoo and lotion.
The breakfast was very comprehensive with a lot of choices. No steam tray with hot sausages or omelets, etc, but a really wide variety of cereal, bread for toast, a pancake maker, wide selection of pastries, nice juice and coffee and tea. And enough toasters and toaster ovens that the wait was fine (I went when it was really busy).
This property is an older multi-building drive up motel style, and there are outside stairs to access the upper floor. So if you have mobility issues, you'd want to stay on the ground floor.
Also, the room was quiet. No traffic noise, but very easy access to both Marine Drive and the Upper Levels highway.
I would definitely stay here again if I needed a hotel in North Vancouver on a budget."
