We booked three nights in late October. It was 40F / 5C outside and same inside! The first night was horrible, it was cold like in a fridge! We could not take a shower in this cold. Asked them to fix it but they did not. Checked out after first night and booked another hotel with heated rooms. The hotel refused to refund two nights even though they did not provide the service we paid for. The room was outdated, too. Stay away from this place, there are plenty of nice hotels there for better price with breakfast, sauna, pool and other amenities and heated rooms!

Dear guests,We regret that you are so upset and unrealistic about your short stay in our hotel. To answer your accusations, we can say that the room temperature in the rooms is 20 degrees and not 5 degrees like in the refrigerator.After you spoke to us about it at reception late in the morning, we explained to you that because the outside temperatures were still warm during the day, the heating could not be turned on completely hot, but we would of course take care of it. Unfortunately, you didn't give us this chance because you came back to reception in the afternoon that day and told us that you had booked another hotel and were leaving now.It is a great pity that you are now making such a bad impression on our hotel in all respects because of this fact.

The location was just perfect with easy access to wonderful walking trails and the train station. Our 3rd floor room was extremely spacious and comfortable.

Schönes Hotel. Leider war das Restaurant und die Bar aus familiärer Gründen geschlossen. Daher stimmt das Preis Leistung Verhältnis nicht. Frühstück war i.O.

Location great but extremely rude staff.
The owner & some of the staff were extremely rude. Their booking system is automated & we therefore didn’t have the twin room we had asked for but a double. I’ve never quite been spoken to so impolitely and made to feel so small as when asking to change rooms. We were actually moved the next day but the hurt had been done. The decor is very worn and beds uncomfortable with terrible half empty pillows!!!

Dear Mrs. Sheila,thank you for your feedback. As we explained already at check in you got exactly the room category you booked! We're sorry in case you had the feeling that the staff spoke impolitely, however all we did is explaining you the booking situation. The next day you even got a free upgrade in a very much higher category. Regarding the decor, many guests love our bavarian decoration and thats what we stand for here in Bavaria. The team at Hotel Schatten was simply amazing! We had an amazing time at the hotel. They provided multiple restaurants that matched our interests, and made sure we felt completely satisfied during our stay. I can't think of anything that I would ask them to change. Hotel Schatten was a charming hotel. Our room felt spacious and comfortable and had a nice deck overlooking the mountains. The location is on a quiet street just off of the beautiful Ludwigstraße, making for a peaceful location that still feels close to tourist spots. The breakfast was absolutely delicious as well.

Alles hat gepasst. Preis/Leistung stimmte. Die Duschwand ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und könnte eine neue Dichtung bei der Türe gebrauchen.

Great time in GAPA
We had an excellent stay. Check in was easy and fast and the staff were fantastic. Close to castles and the Zugspiete, both of which I recommend. We had a Jr Suite and it was huge with a balcony overlooking the mountains and ski slopes. I highly recommend the Hotel Schatten!!

Very cute traditional Bavarian hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable and there was a beautiful view of the mountains from our bathroom. The location is great as it is close to the older streets of the town with cute shops and restaurants. We were a bit sad that the restaurant and biergarten at the hotel were closed while we were there

From the reception they were very friendly, I felt really welcome. The buffet breakfast is perfect, a lot of variety to start the day with energy. The room was very nice with a view of the mountains. I have fallen in love. I definitely recommend the hotel and will come back again in the summer.

Schönes Ambiente, tolle Aussicht, super Service
Im Hotel Schatten war alles perfekt. Ein superuriges Zimmer, Balkon mit Aussicht auf die Zugspitze, reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet und ein wirklich erstklassiger Service. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Die historische Ludwigstraße mit vielen Restaurants und Geschäften liegt gleich um die Ecke.

Beautiful town. So quaint and charming. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Loved our room overlooking the Main Street where we could view the cows making their way home! What a sight that was!

Charming place in the old town
Very charming comfortable property in the lovely old town section of Partenkirchen. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a nice covered patio, which was very welcome when the thunderstorms moved in. I appreciated that we received free bus passes so that we could just leave the car parked and not contribute to the resort town congestion. The only negative was that the WiFi was extremely poor, to the point of being almost unusable.

Sehr sehr freundlicher Empfang in einem gutbürgerlichen Hotel. Geräumiges Zimmer mit kleinem Balkon und Blick in die Berge. Frühstück leider nur mäßig; hätten gern nochmal Kaffee bestellt aber keine Bedienung gefunden. Es wurde später an der Rezeption auch nicht berechnet.

Hotel in guter Lage im ruhigeren Ortsteil Partenkirchen Sehr freundliches Personal; gut ausgestattete, geräumige Zimmer; Zimmer mit Südbalkons mit herrlichem Ausblick. Eine Kühlmöglichkeit ist wünschenswert.

Absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. Clean, friendly and kind service, delicious breakfast and great view from our room. Will be coming back for our next holiday! Location is also perfect, nestled into the old town, and near the hills where you can take a nice evening stroll after dinner.

Wir waren in großer Erwartung angereist bei den vielen positiven Bewertungen. Der Empfang und das Hotel von außen hat uns positiv überrascht, jedoch die Ausstattung und der Zustand des Zimmers waren dann doch sehr enttäuschend. Leider war die gesamte Einrichtung sehr abgewohnt und die Matratze (alte Federkerne) sehr sehr hart. Schade, wir werden das nächste Mal lieber ein Kettenhotel in Garmisch Partenkirchen auswählen.
