"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Royal Kalaw Hills Resort. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the food is excellent and the service was personal and everyone was very attentive. Chozin, who manages the resort was particularly helpful and I could always count on her to help me in many capacities. Her English skills are very good and she was able to help tremendously. Thank you all for a lovely visit!"

"Pros 1. Rooms are just okay - spartan (not big) along with toothbrush, toothpaste, bath gel, shampoo 3. Free water bottle per day 4. Refilling of water near the reception area 5. good Restaurants within 20 metres 6. "A very hospitable new hotel about 4km outside Kalaw in a quiet area with fantastic rural views. Still getting established and with plans for a pool and spa. Great food and the staff could not be more friendly or helpful. A little quiet while we were there but probably due to low season approaching and getting themselves set up."

"We only spent one night here before our 3 day trek to Inle Lake and it was an amazing hotel! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was awesome. Five stars all around."

"Older building needs bit of maintenance. Outstanding welcome with rose petals and towels folded into statuettes. No air con and quirky electricals. Breakfast only just OK, could have been better for budget. Stairs, no lift, par for course for Myanmar. Had to ask for basics like tea bags (also par for course for Myanmar where it is assumed you want coffee)."

"It's atmosphere is very good with full of flowers. However, what is good ends there. The room was cold at night, electricty recepticles were sluggish and the basin cap plug did not work. The hot water capacity was too small and I had to give up filling a bath tub with hot water. Preparing breakfast was very slow."
