Roldal Stave Church

The Roldal Stave Church was built between 1200 and 1250, and is famous for its healing crucifix still in the church. According to legend it sweats once a year on “Olsok” (July 6th after the Julian calendar), and the sweat has healing power. This was from my first backpacking experience ever. I was thoroughly unprepared with my 40+ year old 15 pound tent from my boyfriend's grandfather but it all worked out. This was someone else's nicer and lighter tent and man did they nab a great view. Despite the rain and wind, it was definitely worth it. I love this picture because it shows just how small humans can be compared to the awesome vastness of nature. #Adventure means going out of your comfort zone and I certainly did with no regrets.
