"Lovely property. Top quality furnishings and well thought out. The large walk-in shower with rain shower head was wonderful. The space was well laid-out and beautifully designed. It felt like a home. Excellent location. Close to restaurants, and in walking distance of the downtown area. We would definitely stay there again."

"A pleasantly quirky place, and the staff were incredibly lovely and helpful. Rooms were fresh and spotlessly clean. No noise from inside the hotel, and little from outside. Bar was good value. The cooked breakfast wasn't great, and I didn't feel particularly good value, but the continental breakfast was very good value and very tasty and fresh. Would happily stay again!"

"The staff were lovely especially the young man who checked us in and explained everything we needed. The food was fantastic we ate at the pub that night and stayed bed and breakfast. The breakfast was fantastic ."

"Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is amazing in all respects. It’s historical and very attractive set in extensive grounds. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I only had one meal in the hotel and it was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, it’s great."

"It is a very attractive double bayed Victorian property, with pretty gardens front and back. The interior decorations were up to date but reflected the age and style of the house. Our room was very comfortable and the amenities within the room were great. Breakfast was lovely: cooked beautifully and well presented. We would definitely stay with Dave and Liz again."

"It was great being out in the beer garden in the hot weather. Staff were super friendly/helpful! Room was very clean. Only negative feedback was the shower pressure in Room 8 wasn't particularly strong so hard to rinse hair, plus shower head is fixed to wall which didn't help. Will be back"

"This is a hotel in a lovely location with much to see around it but what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend in a nice hotel was any thing but. The reception on arriving was stale and disinterested. The room was small. On the first day I had to go to reception three times just for milk. Saturday a wedding was held at the hotel and lack of management of noisy people outside our window until 1.40am meant very little sleep in spite of reporting it three times. "Had to change to a room with a shower only for disability reasons. Fire alarm close to 10pm didn't help because it was freezing cold outside in the meeting point in th parking lot. Not a fault of the hotel, but thermal blankets from the fire brigade would have been nice"
