"Nice hotel room with a great view. Staff were nice and helpful. It’s a long walk with lots of stairs to get to the central area/beach and the hotel does not provide a shuttle. The hotel is right beside a bus stop though (cash only) which will take you to the bottom."

"I am a Solo Traveler and I am in Italy traveling down the East Coast, and wanted to be able to visit herculaneum, Pompeii and mount Vesuvius! I lucked out to be able to find B&B Elena, to be able to stay in their establishment was a privilege for a humbled traveller! The was beautifully complemented architecture, everything was so clean, so meticulous and so welcoming! The room was spacious! Elena, was so helpful, courteous and professional! She makes you feel welcome to as a member of the family! In addition to such a beautiful B&B they offer a very tasty breakfast! I booked my Mount Vesuvius tour through Elena! I will give B&B Elena a 10 plus rating as they deserve every bit of that! I will be sure to stay with B and be Elena if I can make it back to Italy! It may God bless their family!"

"A 20 minutes walk from the train station, but just about over the road from one of the entries to the ancient city (amphitheatre end). However our tour started at the train station entrance. The staff were very helpful storing our bags. Down side was we checked in late and when we freshened up before our evening meal on emptying the sink it spilled onto the floor due to a defective drain. Reception staff were very helpful and offered to move our room, but we did not want the inconvenience. As it was late the maintenance team were not available until the following day. Ok for a 24 hour stay."

"This is a beautiful place. The reason I give a 4☆ is only due to the location of our room was above the ballroom. They open the valconies and the music was very loud. They had parties every day. I must say the first night was really bad, but the other two after we explained we couldn't sleep the volume was lower. There is nothing walking distance. If you driving like us, it is crazy no matter what time. I would stay closer to sorrento."

"4 nuits à cette hôtel et on va vraiment beaucoup aimé. Le site est vraiment très beau, vue incroyable sur le Vésuve et sur la montagne en arrière de l’hôtel, belle piscine sur le bord de l’eau. Eau très froide par contre dans la piscine. Bon buffet déjeuner. Stationnement facile pour l’auto et vraiment pas chers comparé aux autre hôtels. Accès facile à la route pour aller visiter. Chambre très grande, lit confortable, c’était très propre. Moi et ma conjointe avons passé un très beau séjour, je vous recommande cet hôtel."

"The views are breathtaking! The breakfast and restaurant are good. Light breakfast, coffee, water, juice, sweet pastries, some protein like prosciutto, some fruit and yogurt! Croissants of-course! We had the Jr Suite with the jacuzzi which was amazing for recovery of the walking and long days! The pool is at the very top of the hill (3 flights of steep steps) , not easily accessible, jacuzzi for the outside premises is nearby, the patio is a highlight for views, be prepared for the nightly sirens and boat sounds since it is right in front of marina however a far far walk, it is not easily accessible walking for any of those who require a sidewalk . However my daughter mother and I made many trips by foot in front of hotel the castle has a steep way down to the city, if you decide to take a cab, it will cost you$25-$30 each way to come up or down. The closes town is Vico Equense, (loved it) not so busy but places to eat..Castallamare has no bus access there so we took a cabs often,$50! So you need reliable transportation or be willing to walk a secluded mountain side by castle to reach train down in the town! But the views and hotel service makes up for this! The housekeeping crew was wonderful, Luigi was a lifesaver when we arrived at train station without access to taxis, he personally came for us! At no charge, all in all had a wonderful peaceful stay, I will say Castallamare is the place to decompress from the hustle and bustle of Positano, Sorrento,Almafi and Napoli!"

"We had read so many wonderful reviews about this hotel and they were not wrong. From the moment you walked in the hotel staff were very helpful and continued to be for the week that we were there. The courtesy bus was great, took us to the station and from there we had our trips to Sorrento, Amalfi and Napoli. The breakfast was very nice, the views were amazing from the rooftop of the hotel with a glass of morning fizz in hand! The restaurant in the evening in the hotel grounds was faultless, the food was amazing and the staff exceptional. During the day the pool area was very calm, the lifeguard / pool attendant kept it spotless, he was a fountain of local knowledge. Thank you, Medusa we had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend your beautiful hotel"
