"For me, the main reason to stay in a hotel is to get sleep which requires a comfy bed, darkness and quiet. Unfortunately here the windows are very old sash style windows which are not double glazed and have lots of gaps. There were several broken locks and handles indicating they know this is an issue. "I embrace historic charm and quirkiness; what I don’t like are doors to bathrooms and bedrooms that don’t shut properly and lack of cleaning. The bedroom was described as deluxe double but there is nothing deluxe about it. The carpet was stained and had not been vacuumed recently as evidenced by dead flies and numerous bits. "Lovely clean room. Staff are the best! Beautiful pub filled with so many friendly people. Rooms are a little small with one ceiling window so can feel abit dark. But beautiful none the less. Could do with a bigger tv. "

"We booked here as we had a wedding to go to 7 miles away. This place was perfect - got real character, we enjoyed a drink on our little balcony in the sun, walked into town and grabbed fish and chips and bits from m&s foodhall a stones throw away. Added bonus has parking. Room was top floor and 5ft 5 i had to bend to get in the door, so if not nimble or really tall, may want a different room. "Beautiful room. Lots of space,and soap and body creme too. Shower lovely with shower gel,and shampoo. Breakfast choice was extensive and served at the table. Charming hostess was very attentive, but not overpowering. Would highly recommend it, and hopefully will stay again."

"Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, hot and plentiful. We enjoyed a full English and the other options on our three night stay. Room was very comfortable , lovely welcome snack basket and amenities available. Mandy was exceptionally welcoming providing local information and details. Great location to stay."
