"We stayed as a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 teen) for 2 nights while visiting family close by. This was our first time staying at a Tru by Hilton, and I didn't think it would be any different from a regular hotel. Just from walking in, we could tell the atmosphere was different from a typical hotel. The entry lounge had fun, comfortable seating with hanging chairs, and kids were playing pool and other games just behind the check-in desk.
Our room was clean and well maintained. Enough space for the 3 of us, a walk-in shower/no tub, no carpet on the floors, and a mini fridge. The things that were odd to us were that there was no dresser or drawers, just a long bench. Our luggage didn't fit on the bench, so we had to unpack it and lay our clothes on the bench. Also, there was no closet, just 5 hooks on the wall, no hangers.
Breakfast in the morning was good. Eggs or an omelette were available each morning with chicken sausage or bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, toast/bagel, coffee, limited fruit, and freshly made individual pancakes with lots of toppings available. Perfect breakfast, except they ran out of milk on the second day and our son had to eat his cereal dry.
Overall, it was a good experience. The hotel has everything we need for a short 2-night stay. If our trip was longer, the storage in the room would have been an issue."
