Absolutely love this resort. The staff is amazing, they always have such a positive attitude and make the stay so much more fun. This was my second time going and won’t be my last. The only thing is if you are going, make arrangements from the hotel to the airport and do not plan to uber as they have very limited drivers in the area and they are not the best. Other than that , definitely will be going back.

I had a really great stay at Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio. The amenities were great, the ambiance was lovely, and the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout my stay. My only challenge was the language barrier, but honestly, it was easily overcome. Both the staff and I used a translator when needed, and there were also a few staff members who spoke English very well. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Emotions for a relaxing stay.

Less than 30 minutes from ap: weekend getaway so swim out room was perfect. Swim out room, looking out to the pool at building 10 great location and lots of sun. Celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday contacted the hotel before arrival. Esmeralda was amazing! She she was able to prepare instead of a birthday surprise for me in the room for my husband before arrival with balloons and a cake

It’s an older property needs upgrading and major remodeling. First night AC was not working had to call 4x and still nothing was resolved. I had to walk to the office for something to get done. Room was changed not much to do small compared to other properties I’ve visited and the food wasn’t that great…. One thing I give a 5 star to is staff. Staff is amazing very attentive to the guest which makes the stay welcoming. Lovely staff…

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emotions Juan Dolio in late August 2026! It was our first time with the Emotions chain. We booked very last minute and were extremely happy with our choice. While much of the DR’s east coast was buried in seaweed from Miches to La Romana, Juan Dolio had beautiful clear water and a seaweed-free beach. As beach people, it was absolutely worth the 1.5-hour drive from the airport. The staff were amazing throughout the resort — from reception to the gardeners, everyone was friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Samir at Ola Lola beach bar and Celeste, our room attendant, who made our stay extra special. The food was very good at the buffet and all à la carte restaurants we tried. After many trips to the DR, this was the first time I had no stomach issues at all, which says a lot about the hygiene standards across the resort. We also loved the air-conditioned coffee shop with its hot and cold coffees and pastries — an absolute pleasure! We upgraded to a sea-view room in Building 1 and loved the VIP area, our terrace and the additional perks. Overall, an unknown, last-minute choice that exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely check Emotions hotels for future vacations. Amazing customer service!

The rooms were outdated and dirty we spoke with the manager immediately and he was very kind and moved us to the adults only section which were the equivalent of a regular resort room. Overall the worst was the interactions with many of the wait staff. The entertainment team were ok but overall the servers and even cleaners need to be better trained in customer service - no one smiled or greeted us as we walked by. We had to constantly stop them as they walked by just to get water or utensils (which were often missing) at the buffet no one came to ask for refills or simply to inquire if we enjoyed the meal. There were limited food choices . Wed didn't go into the pool because it just didn't seem well maintained. The beach bar was nice and the waiters there pleasant - the beach itself was beautiful and plenty of places to sit (though the resort seemed to be empty). All in all this is a budget all inclusive with a beautiful beach that can use improved customers relations training.

Property is having issues with aging or poorly maintained air conditiners. We heard about delays for other guests when checking in, and our started malfunctioning leaking water from day one. The staff is amazing on every level. Is a bit....no, it is overpriced for an "all inclusive resort". Ok for us for a week night or weekend, since we live in Santo Domingo just 34 miles away, or for any tourist looking to mix some sightseeing and experience 500 years of New World history in the Ciudad Colonial (Zona Colonial), the historic heart of Santo Domingo.

We went as a group of eight girls; the staff harassed us quite a bit—though I realized that this happens everywhere in the Dominican Republic. The hotel is okay; it needs more care, as it has a lot of potential. The Wi-Fi doesn't work in the rooms—at least, it didn't work in the room we stayed in. Breakfast was okay; I don't recommend the Japanese restaurant, but the Italian one is very good!

I really enjoyed with my kids. Pretty safe good food. Only thing the Mexican rest they were so annoyed, we made an appointment they said no sandals and we understood however the rest of the people were wearing them even tho we showed them but other than that it was a nice experienced.
