"Incredibly helpful staff, especially Vicky who personally helped us get an Indian SIM card (trust me it's quite a hassle in India) and dropped us off at the airport. His tuk-tuk tour to the Wagah border is incredible, and honestly he was more entertaining than the ceremony itself. As long as you don't mind being a slightly squished on his ride depending on the group size, for 300 Rs. you really can't go wrong. He alone is the reason for a 5/5 rating. The private room was really good for the very affordable price, although without window. Fairly basic, but also clean and very comfortable. There's also a small communal area on the top floor, plus a kitchen space. The area surrounding the hostel is a slightly rundown, but it's a 5-10 minute walk to the Jallianwala Bagh park, the Golden Temple and all the markets and attractions around Heritage Street. Car traffic can be quite bad in Amritsar from early morning till late night, so being able to get on foot is very valuable."

"Great place to stay to visit Harmandir Sahib Golden Temple. It's right in the center of the action of Heritage Street right near the Maharaja Ranjit Singh statue and Jallianwalla Bagh Park. The soundproofing is excellent to get a good night's sleep, because Heritage St is extremely busy all day and almost all night. The room wasn't super clean and had exposed wiring in the bathroom, but for the price, it was fine. We had great hot water. The staff is excellent and listened to our requests and concerns. Keep in mind - it's located on a barricaded area for pedestrian traffic only, so taxis can only drop you off near the barricade so you'll have to walk a few yards to get to the hotel. Inside the lobby, there are 3-4 steps without a railing to get to the elevator/lift - which was tough for senior citizen grandmother."
