I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at the Bayview Hotel in Valletta, Malta. One of the main reasons we chose and booked your hotel was for the spa facilities. On our first day, when we attempted to use the spa, we were informed not by hotel staff but by a builder on site that the spa would be closed for three days due to construction work. This information was not communicated to us at any point prior to booking, during the booking process via Expedia, on your website, or at check-in. Had we been made aware of this in advance, we would have chosen alternative accommodation with fully available amenities. After enquiring at reception ourselves, we were informed that we could use a spa at another hotel instead. While this was offered, it was not a suitable substitute for the on-site facilities we specifically booked and paid for. On the second day of our stay, the building work noise became extremely loud and disruptive throughout the day. The noise levels were such that we were unable to relax or enjoy our short break. I have recordings available which clearly demonstrate the severity of the disturbance. Once again, no prior warning was provided regarding these works — neither before booking nor upon arrival at the hotel. We only became aware through the builders and our own enquiries. The lack of transparency regarding both the spa closure and the ongoing construction works significantly impacted our stay and resulted in a disappointing experi

The bed was very comfortable, with a nice variety of pillows. The shower was great, excellent water pressure. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast were friendly and efficient. Doris (I think she was a housekeeper) was lovely, and very helpful.

Here is some feedback for the awful visit to your hotel. Firstly, we paid for a hotel at the location we wanted, which included hot drink facility in the room, breakfast, swimming pool, spa and gym. On the first day we got there, we were told we had to stay at a different hotel. Good customer service would apologies and out you in the same level, or upgraded hotel, we were put in, what would essentially be described as, a hostel.   Now, let me describe what this “hostel” was like. Not only were all the amenities we PAID for not included: no swimming pool, spa, gym, breakfast or hot drink facilities in the room. The self service kettle which was provided had a European plug and therefore could NOT be plugged into the English plugs what are used in the entirety of Malta! The customer service was abysmal. We were told we had to pay an extra set of security deposit because the deposit we paid was for the other hotel, we were told there was breakfast and a gym, there wasn’t! We were told we had to bring our own adapter to use the kettle. It doesn’t end there. The zircon doesn’t work! On asking for the zircon to be fixed, were had NUMEROUS people coming in and out of the room, while we were trying to sleep in the damp, muggy room. At one point I tried to explain to the technician that the zircon turns on for 10mins and then automatically turns off, and I was told I was wrong and it’s fine. He also got physically angry and pursed his lips and his body tense. That was just beginning

Despite being well positioned on the waterfront, close to shops, restaurants and the local bus routes, it is clear that the hotel has seen better days. Positives - friendly helpful reception staff, good mattresses, good buffet breakfast and lots of hot water and good quality towels. Negatives - the outdoor pool area and spa is dirty with cracked tiles, mould growing around the jacuzzi and despite booking the sauna an hour before as requested it had not been turned on when we wanted to use it. Room cleaning is very poor. We had paint flakes dropping from the ceiling in our bathroom which made it very clear that whilst towels were changed when requested, the floor was not touched. The bed was straightened but the sheets were not changed, and there are signs of age and wear and tear throughout the rooms and the hotel in general. Broken fixtures, missing hinges, lots of cracked wall and floor tiles and a general lack of cleanliness everywhere except the reception area. Be warned - the photo of the pool that the hotel uses is NOT the hotel pool but from a water and bar centre across the road. Nov 2025 - there is building work happening on the second floor and produces some additional noise and mess.

I was upgraded on arrival to sea view room which was beautiful, overlooking the harbour & Valetta. Balcony had two chairs & coffee table and was pleasant to sit & watch the world go by. Aside from the view I think it was a standard double room with a shower. Nice compact tray with Kettle, tea/coffee & mini fridge. Open hanging rail was plentiful with hangers & space however wasn’t suitable for longer dresses - had to use the coat hook (not the end of the world) additional bedding provided. Attention to environmental awareness in toiletries & use of AC. Terrace & pool were closed which was disappointing as it was one of the features that made me choose this hotel. There was some confusion around charges for use of Aqualuna lido which was ironed out quickly. Breakfast was disappointing for me as I like to try local foods, mortadella & Maltese sausage were the only local options. Mini pastries were overcooked, melon not quite ripe. I’m not a cooked breakfast person, but the counter was plentiful with many options. Overall a good stay in a central location to all transport to move around the island. Good selection of restaurants & shops nearby. Promenade was lovely for a stroll.

Soggiornato per tre notti in camera familiare, hotel dal buon rapporto qualità prezzo, vista la media dei prezzi degli hotel circostanti. Colazione valida, col necessario per affrontare le giornate di visita di Valletta e dintorni. Non ho riscontrato una situazione disastrosa come segnalato da altre recensioni, certo qualche attenzione in più ai dettagli nella manutenzione sarebbe necessaria. Ascenseur beaucoup trop long... Piscine ridicule et froide, sur le toit. Transats sales, petit déjeuner horrible, café inbuvable et jus de fruits chimiques +++. Personnel qui enleve les assiettes et couverts dès la dernière bouchée, un peu oppressant dès le matin dans un brouhaha assourdissant. Le choix est très limité surtout quand on souhaite du sucré. Tout est industriel avec un gout de mauvaise qualité (beurre, confiture, yaourt, etc...) Hôtel bruyant, mal insonorisé. Cependant, La chambre était propre, avec une literie convenable, les oreillers sont trop mous, et sales. Salle de bain trop petite pour 3.

personnel d'étage pas vu souvent. a l'accueil sympathique ainsi que le personnel du petit déjeuner. nuit très bruyante avec les climatiseurs qui donnent sur les balcons , ainsi que des travaux dans le quartier à 8 heure .

This is my second time staying here. The hotel is lovely the reception staff are fab. I belive was cLled Raj was very helpful. Unpon arrival at 11.30pm my bookkng had been misread and the room I booked for wasnt free. I had a night in a substute room. This was an arrigvating start to the holidsy but the team did do everything they could to elevate and rectify the issue. The hotel corridors look a little tired but im happy with thay becuase the rooms are fab. I had room 402 with a sea view abd balcolny. Im booked again (hopefully with the same room number) for March 2026

Mir hats gefallen

Icj war sehr zufrieden. Nettes Personal. Der Balkon mit seitlichem Meerblick war etwas klein. Trotzdem sehr schöne Aussicht. Die Ausstattung war perfekt. Kühlschrank, Teekocher, alles vorhanden. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut. Gute Bio Tees, frische Früchte, Tomaten, Gurken etc. Die Käseauswahl könnte noch verbessert werden
