"Wanted to give the hotel 5 stars. Just a couple of niggles which you would not expect of a 4-star hotel in the centre of York. Staff lovely and friendly, breakfast fresh and delicious with a good choice. Rooms have a unique design of what can only be described as an open plan bathroom. I didn't mind it but I can see how others might. Bed big and comfy. Niggles included dust on cups and spoons, only enough shower gel for 1 shower, empty tissue box and a dirty towel (1 of 4). All put right at the first request but should not be needed in a 4-star hotel. Great location for city centre attractions. A little more attention to detail and it would have been 5 stars."
