You had Expedia call us at 6:30pm, day of, to cancel for the night. It's impossible for you to give us a review of 1 out of 5 as you were never here. Hammond is a beautiful quiet town. We are located 2 blocks from the Columbia river and 2 miles from the ocean. There is so much natural beauty and history to see. We at South Jetty Inn take pride in our business, guests and reviews. This dishonest/unwarranted review can hurt us. We were not happy about the last minute cancellation, as there is a 24hr cancellation policy. With that said, we could have and should have charged you, but we decided not to, now we wish we would have. Don't review our Motel if you have never been here.

The owners go above and beyond to provide a comfortable stay. Many small details that make the room welcoming: extra towels, good toiletry products, a welcome granola bar, etc... The place is quiet, bed was very comfortable, excellent shower. The property is located in a small community, does not look so appealing from the outside, an older building, but it's well maintained.

Staff was very welcoming and kind. The room is comfortable and the beds are amazingly comfortable. Over all a great place to relax after a day at the beach near by.

Unlike people giving a 4 star because of no breakfast, its 10 star. My wife and I made the trip for new years eve to go crabbing and the roomswere beyond perfect. The fishing themes to make you feel at home was perfect. Bouy 9 restaurant next door that had great food and a short walk to the boat ramp. Also when we arrived the Owners greeted us as we pulled in. They even offered help to carry luggage to our rooms. Charlie and Andrea the owners are great. They also have a little coffie stand call the Elk stop coffee. If you are a city slicker wanting a free breakfast stay in Astoria. The rooms were so nice I took my boots off. I did not want to get the room dirty. We will be back.

We enjoyed the area around Ft Stephens State Park, the fire pit around behind the property, latte availability right there, Luna the great Dog and the pleasant, helpful, but not overbearing staff.

A quaint inn with lots of character. We stayed in the “Captain’s Quarters” full of maritime decor and a king bed fit for a captain. Bath and shower clean with colorful towels instead of the usual hotel white. Some noise from other rooms but not too bothersome. Cute coffee trailer in the parking lot for your morning Java.

Quaint, small roadside type motel/inn. Bed was comfortable. Furniture, bedding, decor is mismatched but it is a kitschy beach theme that feels like you are staying overnight at a family members home. The owner greeted us as soon as we got out of our car and addressed us by name. Location is very convenient to both Astoria and the state park down the road. Would recommend!

I will definitely recommend this inn. The owners are friendly and helpful, my room was very cozy and the bed was amazingly comfortable! This isn’t a chain experience, no breakfast buffet or cucumber water. It’s a locally owned mom and pop business so a stay here helps support the area. They even have an expresso kiosk in the parking lot! 👍😊

Great stay in Hammond
One night stay to attend a wedding in Astoria. I would call this a hidden gem. They had everything you could possibly need. Very friendly, hospitable and spotless. Great price too compared to others in the area.

South Jetty is the Place to Be
We had a great stay at the South Jetty. The room was perfectly clean and nicely appointed, great touches and amenities. Check in was smooth, and being greeted by Luna was a great bonus. The location was perfect for getting to the beach, hiking, exploring Astoria, and eating.

This is the second time I have stayed at South Jetty. I am absolutely blown away at the comfort I get when I am there. Every room has a theme. The beds are super comfortable. Staying here is pretty close to staying at home and I am here for it.

Little Gem
This is where we stay after the Hood to Coast relay every year. The couple that manages this quaint little motel is very accommodating and wonderful. They certainly take good care of their guests. The rooms are nice and clean, comfy beds, and nicely decorated with a nautical theme. They have a coffee cart outside too which is a nice touch. Just down the way in the town of Hammond is best little diner called Arnie’s which Janice favorite stop for breakfast on our way out of town.
