"Be aware of the room you are choosing. We stayed in Aft Castle room 6. The online pictures show living areas, kitchens etc but we had one very small room and small bathroom, with no additional living areas, not representative of the photos. If you have mobility issues, this is not your room, as it is three floor walk up. As well, there is very limited parking on site, with overflow parking one block away."

"The location for one can't be beat. Right on the river with eagles and herons flying in for their breakfast fishing. The restaurant offers German cuisine and the food is excellent. We had room nr 7 upstairs, King bed, which was very spacious, quaint, well appointed and had a great view. Loved our stay there."

"We stayed here with our two kids aged 9 and 12. The location was perfect for exploring the Halifax waterfront. The Citadel was right next to the hotel and we spent a few enjoyable hours there as well! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The onsite parking was convenient, easy to access and a reasonable price at $27 CAD plus tax a day. Hot tub, sauna and rooftop terrace were very well maintained and clean. "The property was located in a more industrial area. It is a dated property that needs some updates desperately. The room smelled musty and of smoke. The room was humid and the sheets and floor felt damp. The air conditioning didn’t work. I do not recommend this property"

"This was an amazing property had everything we needed. Loved the adult swim from 10-11pm and a full kitchen. The only thing is to see most attractions around the Halifax area you need to rent a car."
