Overall very good, good balance with standard and price. A bit institution like feeling (which is understandable regarding the history). Nice to have access to common areas. Clean and nice. Location is very convenient close to tram, and metro as well.
I found the hotel really convenient, with easy access to public transport and close to the terminal for going to Tallinn, if you wanted to. It's also just a few minutes from the city centre, which is great. One point to note is that there is no on-site reception, which I hadn't noticed when I booked. However, half an hour before check-in time, I received an e-mail with all the information I needed, and everything went perfectly.
I had a generally good stay at the hotel. The location is great – in a clean area right by the water, and I was lucky to get a room with a nice view. The room was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated.
One small downside was the check-in time. 3 PM felt a bit late for me personally, but it worked out in the end.
The only real issue was the bathroom: after showering, the whole floor would get wet due to the lack of a curtain or screen. That’s something that could definitely be improved.
Overall, a pleasant stay in a nice area – I’d consider coming back.
Easy to find- I had 6 people and 2 rooms. One room was a sleeper for 2 but no bathroom…the second room was very very small. I assumed there was a bathroom in each room. Rooms were clean and beds were good. We played cards in the “kitchen” area. Not sure where the sauna is.
Its worth for the price you pay. there is no reception. everything is straightforward. they text you the code 30mints before arrival. very close to the central 10-15mints by train. less than a minute to the tram stop.

Pretty average experience in all regards. Price was ok for what it was, and the bed + blanket + pillow was good, but bathroom needed cleaning and the drinking glasses needed to be rinsed WELL to be able to use them.
renovations at the hotel floor was not optimal for enjoyment.
This is a great hotel. It is very clean, the rooms were very spacious and the bathroom was surprisingly large.
It is super easy to get there as the closest metro stop is only a very easy 15 minute ish walk away but the closest tram stop is literally halfway across the street from the main entrance.
Prior to my stay, I received a lot of emails from the property, telling me exactly what to expect and how to access the property, which was incredibly nice since there didn't seem to be anyone actually working on site. As opposed to the usual 10 minute or so check in time, it took me approximately 2 minutes to enter the building and get into my room.
The only issue I dealt with (and so did the 2 other groups of people who showed up to the hotel at the same time that I did) was that there was a slight problem finding the main entrance to the hotel. It's what looked to be like a random door. It's a small nitpick, but it was pretty confusing for a couple of minutes initially.
I booked the junior suite. It is located in the corner of the 5th floor. So the panorama view over the Ruoholahti residential area, the Ruoholahti Canal, the Crusell Bridge and the Baltic Sea is amazing. I especially loved the large balcony with sea/canal view. It was great to sit there and watch the sunset. Besides, the view was good even from the bathroom (and the sauna) but unfortunately windows were a bit dirty. I think that you can't get better view anywhere else in Helsinki than in this junior suite. Standard rooms haven't quite as good views.
Prices are very reasonable in this hotel because they haven't any check-in services or breakfast there. You only get a key code by e-mail or by text message 30-60 minutes before your check-in time. A shared laundry room, a shared mini kitchen and a very large shared living room with three microwave ovens, many table groups and a coffee machine (with charge) are available.
This hotel is located less than 2.5 kilometers from the city center, 1 kilometer from the West Harbor, 700 meters from Ruoholahti metro station and next to Crusellinsilta tram stop. I walked from the central railway station to the hotel. It took 30-40 minutes. There are very beautiful walking areas near the hotel, too. I especially recommend nearby parks, especially Saukonpaadenpuisto and Hyväntoivonpuisto.
It is always a very nice stay at Hiisi hotel!
Clean rooms big Bathroom...kitchen outside in a little room and also with a big Dinner/Breakfast room you can prepare your food!
Hard to find the front door. Had to call for help to get door code. Other than that, I was very happy. Excellent cleanliness and services and accommodations. Will stay again.
No frills place and very clean. There’s a common living room, kitchen and laundry you can use. We had five people in our room however they only had four blankets and when we asked for the 5th one they said since no one’s on site they will bring it the next day however they never did. Luckily we were visiting family so they provided one for us. Just know you won’t get any onsite help if you need.
The room was spacious and clean. There was a small fridge in the room which was great and there's access to a laundry room, kitchen and guest living area. The room was very hot when I arrived as the curtains were open and the fan was off - once I had ran the fan and closed the curtain for a few hours it cooled down a bit.

Finding the entrance was difficult coz there's no signage. Going inside was eerie coz the light turns on only when it sense some presence. No one to greet you. The room is like a hospital room for geriatrics. I was scared going inside the building by myself.
