"Based on the pictures I expected a quiet cabin in the forest campground. But the lodge is located on a side of a very busy freeway. When I say on a side it is literally on the side. It was insanely loud. You cant open windows because of the noise even at night. You cant sit outside because all you see and hear are cars. No birds, no mountain air. There was no peace you expect from a cabin. That was a huge disappointment.
Also, the room is tiny. There is no way a family can stay in it. There is literally no space for more than 2 carry-on.
There also was a guest who kept smoking outside of tbe cabin.
Pros:
The water pressure was the best ever I saw in any hotel, even in resorts.
Bed was comfortable.
Convenient location to the Mt. Rushmore and the town.
They give free bags of ice.
There is laundry on the compound.
