Pros: Clean, friendly staff, self-service laundry included with no extra fee, walkable to eateries and shops, in the heart of “Little Tokyo” so surrounded by Japanese stores and shops and restaurants. Small jacuzzi on rooftop. Small gym and sauna and cold bath looked nice but didn’t get to try.
Cons: really busy area so if you want peace and quiet surrounding, this is not it. It is quiet during night hours, but it’s near “Red District” (pro or con, you decide :)). Didn’t expect this. Was with Alzheimer’s mother so this was not the place to be. No central AC heating, so if you’re not in your room, every where is hot. There’s a glass door on the bottom of stairway where I, along with others, have banged their heads because the sign is very tiny and I’ve never encountered a glass door at the start of a stairwell.
Breakfast was small, perhaps I’m used to a wider selection. It’s a boutique hotel, so much smaller compared to your 5-star hotels (which was what it was used to for comfort for mom). Sharing this for standards comparison 😉. It was listed as 4.5 stars hotel, so perhaps I was expected more. The suite size hotel room wasn’t as big either as other suites I’ve paid for in Hue, Da Nang, and Cam Ranh. It was also expensive for the size, so I was expecting more. I guess it is Saigon and prices are higher, but in comparison to 5-star hotels and their listed price, seemed I could have gotten one with bigger space and bigger breakfast selection with more affordable pricing.
