"The Charlie Hotel and our ‘Steve’ room in particular was a great place for us to base ourselves in West Hollywood. It had enough space and all the amenities that you would need. The bed was comfortable, and there was a full kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Staff that we encountered were very friendly and professional. The only negative was the frankly ridiculous rule that was stuck to the kitchen wall forbidding the cooking or microwaving of fish with the risk of a $250 fine from the hotel. As a couple who enjoys eating fish every day or two, this was very inconvenient. It seems, if odors are the issue, that spicy curries or food full of garlic would be more of a concern. I’m just glad we didn’t go to the supermarket before we checked into the room and saw the sign, otherwise we would’ve had a lot of fish going to waste! Never had this “fish policy” in any other place we’ve stayed in across the globe."
