Holiday Inn Express Belfast City by IHG
8/10 Good
"The location is great for being able to walk to a lot of places. The room was a decent size. The breakfast was very good. I did have 1 beef and I don't know if this is something other people would care about, but I'm going to mention it anyways. We had gone to a near-by restaurant (Thai Village - very good food) and we couldn't finish our meals and asked for them to be packed up, which they did. When we got back to the hotel we asked if they could store our left-overs in the fridge as the rooms don't have fridges or microwaves in them as ours do in Canada. We were told only meds can be stored in the fridge. The agent at the counter relented and put them in the fridge for us. Next day after an extremely long excursion (13 hours) we were very tired and just wanted to heat our left-overs up and chill in our room. The staff told us they couldn't heat them up in their microwaves because of liability reasons? What? Liability? She said in case we got sick, they would be liable. What? I told her we would accept all risk and she still wouldn't citing it is a company policy. What a stupid policy! Put microwaves and fridges in the rooms like they have in Canada and most likely the USA then so people can save a little money by not having to purchase all their meals (except breakfast as that is provided). I'm not sure if this is a Holiday Inn policy or city or what but it doesn't make sense to me. I would have given a 5 star review had this not happened."
Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre by IHG
8/10 Good
"Room was clean and spacious (for a premium room). Location is good. About 1 km from the city hall. A Nespresso machine was provided but not the coffee pods (😔). Close to the Central Train station. Breakfast was average considering the price. Staff was helpful."

Clayton Hotel Belfast City
10/10 Excellent
"The Clayton Hotel staff were a pleasure to deal with and were very pleasant despite being busy. In spite of how busy they were with the Fleadh, they still made sure guests were taken care of. The breakfast items were replenished when the trays went low, warm plates available, tables cleared immediately so there was very little waiting time between covers. The hotel is in an ideal location with just a short walk to the city centre. Parking was just around the corner. Nice choice of mains for dinner and again prompt and friendly service. We will definitely choose this hotel again and recommend it."

"Central Location. Basic Hotel"
Malmaison Belfast
8/10 Good
"Malmaison Belfast was in a perfect location for us on a first trip to the city. Everywhere was walkable and we felt it was just enough away from the party noise of the town on a Friday night but still at the heart of everything. The member of staff who checked us in was extremely lovely and welcoming. Very friendly and helpful, as were the gentleman and young lady running breakfast. We loved the building itself and the bar and restaurant/breakfast room were beautiful and had so much character. While we didn’t have dinner there, the hot breakfast options were beautiful. Best Eggs Benedict I’ve had in a long while and probably the best homemade granola I’ve ever had. I need the recipe. The only very minor improvement I would suggest is in the room itself. It was spacious, lovely and well furnished (see my poor after-pic with the giant pizza box from Little Wings in the Cathedral Quarter) but felt that it hadn’t been properly maintained. There was a big rip of the wallpaper and marks on the wall which made the place not feel as sparkling as it should have, even in the darker ambience. I wouldn’t let that put people off. It was fantastic and we would go back. Just keep on top of those things is my recommendation."
