"The goods: the lady let us check in 1 hr earlier, the property was cleaned and well maintained. The horse farm is very nice and the horses are super friendly and cute. The bad: the temperature downstairs (living room and kitchen) was very hot without any way to turn it down. "The 5 star reviews are definitely fake, property is not maintained, rooms are not sound proof, not shower after hot tub, receptionist didn’t offer a free drinks that was included in my Expedia package being a VIP member. At sub $200 you can find better properties.."

"Very cozy cabin with scenic view. Has everything needed for a comfortable stay. We slept very well on the comfortable bed. The horses in the pasture were amazing. If any questions or anything is needed, host is very responsive and helps quickly. Thank you for the stay!"

"A beautiful hotel and setting with great amenities. We did the e-mountain biking and guided hike, which were lovely - the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Given that the hotel is remote and there are no food options, the restaurant and food was very expensive (but good). The baths were very nice. The room was comfortable but VERY HOT (this is not unique to this hotel, but a thing at all Iceland hotels we visited). Staying up at Highland Base was a highlight of your trip to Iceland."

"We had a wonderful two night stay here. It is a bit away from anything which we liked, but be sure to plan accordingly. It was easy to spend the day on the ring road leaving that morning and making our way back in the evening (the never ending sunlight helped). The room is well appointed, everything you could need in the kitchen. My daughter loved playing with their two well behaved dogs. Be sure to pay attention to their directions, apple maps will take you 30 minutes in the wrong direction."

"We loved the animals. The cows, the horses, and especially the farm dogs. The dogs made us feel like we were at home greeting us at the restaurant with their tales wagging. Watching the cows from the restaurant was like having dinner with a movie. And the horses were majestic. 10/10 restaurant and spacious comfortable room with great blackout drapes as well."

The room itself was clean. There is two numbers to be able to contact the staff, neither worked. Staff was unreachable during our 2 night stay.
