Quality Inn Schaumburg - Chicago near the Mall

"Breakfast was solid. Very similar every day but I appreciated the quality and consistency. Hot tub was operating, almost seemed like there were a touch too many chemicals. There's a lot of places to eat and a nice mall close to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were old but well maintained in my opinion. Unfortunately the low point was the bed. It was quite hard and not very comfortable. Woke up with back pain a couple days. Pretty happy with the stay overall but the one problem was one that cannot be easily overlooked."

"Hands down one of the worst stays I’ve ever had within the Hyatt portfolio. This property is clearly not being maintained to Hyatt standards. Our room would never have passed a basic QA inspection. We found hair on the bathroom walls, floors, and in the bathtub upon arrival. The bathroom door was crumbling, and the furniture was scratched and heavily worn. The issues extended throughout the hotel. Hallways were littered with old garbage, room service trays, and dirty dishes. Baseboards were ripped off the walls, ceilings showed water damage, and the overall property felt neglected. The outdoor pool was covered with a tarp and surrounded by a deck with a large hole in it. Walking through the atrium, we could see rooms on the 4th and 5th floors that appeared completely trashed through the windows. What frustrated me most was the lack of management response. Brandon at the front desk reviewed photos, apologized, and agreed the room was not up to standard. He advised Director of Operations Florijan Matic would contact us. Nothing. When I followed up, Brandon discovered the case had been closed without anyone reaching out. He submitted a second ticket. More than 48 hours later, still no call or email. To make matters worse, the hotel was hosting a convention featuring highly sexualized costumes and displays in public areas while children were present. The condition of the property and complete lack of follow-through made this an incredibly disappointing stay."

"The hotel is in immediate need of renovation. Room furniture was not good. The vanity was in very bad shape. All the furniture in the room was destroyed. Other than the room in bad condition the hotel main lobby is good. The staff was kind and helpful."
