"The staff were extremely helpful, storing luggage, arranging luggage transfers and offering use of their phone for a local call. Kids loved the bunk-beds and it was definitely handy having an in-room washer-dryer. The room was comfortable for a family of 4 but we were disappointed at there being no good views as the hotel is only a few stories high, in a quieter street. I had high expectations due to the Mimaru brand having great reviews especially for families, and while it ticked all the boxes...

We enjoyed reserving the private onsen with our family. No food or snacks available, but it was near a Lawson and FamilyMart. The location was also in a great walkable area with a few excellent restaurants within a few blocks, and away from the chaotic downtown. "The staff were exceptionally polite, helpful and very friendly as were all locals throughout Kyoto. Our family stayed in room 501 a beautiful clean studio unit that had bunk beds for our boys and two side by side very comfortable twin beds for my wife and I. Our pillows were very nice, beds very firm and perfect. Our unit had a great kitchen table, large tv, and very nice fridge and freezer, kitchen sink, cooktop, toaster oven and microwave.
