"There are a few important things about this hotel that you don’t find in the description or the reviews. First, this hotel is on the campus of IL State University. I was there on a weekend when college was not in session. I’m certain that if you are there during the time courses are in session, the traffic will be very busy. Second, the parking is less than desirable. As a single woman, I would like to know that I will have to park across the street in a parking garage that’s attached to the city hall offices and the Amtrak train station. Had I known the latter, I would have chosen a different hotel. There is no valet services so you are left to deal with that on your own. Lastly, I stay at higher end hotels because I’m willing to pay more for better amenities. This hotel is clean, but very very outdated. The entry is beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing, however, the rooms are very old😔! There was not a microwave in the room, the carpet was old and stained. The motion censored lights in the bathroom were not working properly and the furniture was not very appealing and needs to be replaced.
Would I stay here again? For the price I paid and the inconveniences, no, I would not."
