On the ocean - beautiful views! Really well looked after cottages, super clean, nice layout, really laid back feel. Beds are comfy. We would come here again for sure.

Not a swimming beach or kids/seniors but loved seeing all the deer. Lots of them. Thank you so much for the wine. A nice relaxing stay.

Really quite place and beautiful area lots of wild life and waking up with a coffee and a sunrise with waves crashing on the shore it the best thing to wake up and go to sleep too everything a person could ask for and my kids had a blast

Great little cottages by the sea :) Clean and well decorated, super close to all the amazing beaches of this region. The only down side was a humming industrial noise from a nearby plant, but these are working fishing communities so to be expected. Watch out - Google Maps has the location wrong (takes you to the local pier); but you can easily see on satellite view the cottages just up the road.

I didn’t realize that it was right on the Ocean. I knew that it was close but I only needed to take a number of steps and I was drinking my coffee right one the shore. I LOVED that!

In the age of covid it is hard to criticize any small business trying to hang on... Whispering Waves is a little gem that is do for some upgrades. The staff are wonderful and the property is beautiful.

Thank you for staying with us we are sorry that you feel we need to upgrade the cottage we work hard to accommodate everyone due to corvid its really hard to order new appliances and furniture's, hopefully in the next future it will happen.

I loved that it was so close to the beach. My view was of the ocean! Size of unit was perfect for what we needed for a short weekend stay. Utensils could be updated and stocked a bit. Pillows were a little hard. Other than those little things , it was great.

Relax by the ocean!
Great peaceful location on the ocean. Deer abound on the property. Full kitchen! Barbecue grill! Firewood! Just a few restaurants nearby and grocery stores are limited! Bring what you need for the duration!

Cozy 2 bedroom cottage right on the ocean. Community campfire and gazebo, laundry facilities, very convenient. Peaceful and relaxing location.

A "MUST STAY" location in South Shore Nova Scotia
This place is an extraordinary find tucked away on the south shore. Each cabin is lovingly built, decorated and maintained with all the comforts of home and the beauty of the ocean outside your door. Hike, ride or four wheel to the nearby white sand beachf or surfing and warm water!! Barbecue on your spacious porch as you watch the sunset over a beautiful cove. Your hosts, Paul and Charlotte are the nicest people you could meet who make you feel so comfortable. We will be back at least once a year and tell everyone how fantastic the whole experience was.

This was a great, quiet place to stay. The only down full was there was a terrible smell to the hot water, so we were not able to enjoy the big Jacuzzi tub in our room, as the odor of the water was really bad.

A wonderful girls trip
My friend, myself and my friend's mother rented the cottage for a girls summer trip. We loved our cottage! It was clean, bright and very comfortable. I wasn't sure at first that the bed would be comfortable but it ended up being very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The living area was great for reading or watching tv. The bathroom was large and had a jetted tub. The porch was a favorite of ours to sit outside and enjoy a good book or just admire the view. We enjoyed walking down to the water for the sunset view. Each cottage has a view of the water but its really nice to walk down closer to the water. The cottage has a good reading selection if you wanted something to read. There were games for both inside and outside. The laundry facilities were free to use. On Saturday the owners have lobsters available for a very good price and they cook them. The lobsters were out of this world! But the best thing about the cottage was the owners, Paul and Charlotte. They are so warm and friendly. If there is anything they can do to make your stay more comfortable for you they will do it. They really want you to enjoy your stay. We wouldn't think twice about renting a cottage there again!

Great place for a couple of nights
The cottage was perfect! The trash / recycling/ compost thing is annoying but unavoidable. There could be a better way to deal with the barrels as to reduce the stench and flies. The beach at round bay is great and the road is very driveable, you don’t need awd to access it.

Thanks for coming and stay with us here we are sorry for the recycling we try to do our best for the smelly bins we tried to talk to the municipality for that matters and we are still after them for a regular pick up especially for cottages we totally agree so hopefully that matter will be resolved in the futur.

Whispering Waves was hard to book because it is very popular in July, and deservedly so. Lovely quiet location right on the shore. Well equipped cabins, tho the decor, especially in the bathroom is getting a little “tired”. But everything is clean. Rabbits and deer abound and there are good walks around. Even a tiny beach. Only downside was smell of cirarette smoke in the bedroom. Tough as we are careful to book non-smoking. Sort that out and I’d be happy to give 5,

Hi Marilyn Glad that you enjoyed your stay with us other than the smoke in 1 of the bedrooms, we tried our best to get the smell out of the room before you came as the guest before you didnt read the none smoking sign so as our sign says you will be charged and he was , hope to see you again . 2 nights booked
We had 2 nights booked as we were traveling from Ontario. A family member was critically ill in ICU and I asked for a rebate as I was at hospital and that time was cutting into our drive time and vacation. He said he could put it in the back of it meaning the third day but we had already booked one week at another place. He told us to cancel the second place and just stay there. I said no. He said that in lieu of the 150 we lost he had upgraded us to his finest 2 bedroom suite. Private etc on the water. This was not a (350 inclusive of taxes)suite which was the cost of 2 days. We were so exhausted I did not try and get some of the money back as it was especially sad circumstances and energy level was low. The Cottage suite was ok. Not private. Had to close the drapes so other cottages could not see us. It was Dated and in need of some TLC and kitchen amenities for cooking. The bathtub when letting out the water made the toilet bubble up like a volcano which was a first for me It was scary. First time I had seen that. We left early the next morning to continue on our journey to the more private Oceanside Cottage to relax. This Cottage complex is good for people wanting to party with the next door Cottage neighbor. Cottages are very close so if you don’t mind that it’s fine but not for 150 a night.

Hi Sorry you were not happy with your cottage as all of our guests writes nice comments if you read on other booking sites or the quest book inside the cottage , the cottage sits only 75 feet from the ocean and 100 feet from other cottages, . When you book through other sites you ask them for your money back if you miss a day , we have nothing to do with that you have to deal with them . The offer for staying with us another week was that you lost a day and we was going to give you a free night on the other end of your stay as you told us you didnt realize how far your next place was from where you was looking to buy property. Not sure what was going on with the tub as that cottage has been full since you left with know complains . Thanks Whispering Waves cottages

Wonderful Cottage right on the Ocean
We had a beautiful stay, beautiful cottage and a wonderful host. The Cottage was stocked with everything that one could possibly need! Very quiet, calm and peaceful... great place to relax.

Nice getaway retreat!
More than expected. Sat by the water and watched the daily going on's of the birds, or boats heading out for the daily catch. The sunsets, and sounds of the seals in the distance were proof that live is good. The hosts were extremely kind and friendly. Free laundry room too!

Couldn't ask for a better setting or nicer hosts
Paul and Charlotte have taken great care to set the cottages up with an "at home" feel that made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled up to the site. The kitchens are well equipped and the bbq on the porch is the perfect addition for cooking all the fresh seafood available in the area. Our only wish is that we didn't live in BC or we would be regulars at this amazing location. Instead, we will have to redefine regular to include west coasters who make it out every few years. We can't wait to return. Call Charlotte or Paul to ask about the cottages and you'll get an immediate sense of what makes them the perfect hosts in this picturesque setting. The waves really do whisper.
