Loch Lomond Hotel

"Confusion at check in - I had requested a ground floor room due to our age and reduced mobilty, but there wasn't one available (despite booking nearly a month ago it was not reserved) we were allocated one on the first floor. Went to the room only to find it was already occupied! Back to reception who after a while was able to sort a room - on the second floor! Apologies but no other option. The reception lady did carry one of our bags for us. The room itself was fine, but the stairs were a problem and we were there for two nights so up and down several times. We managed but not good. We had to carry our bags down on check out - no help then. The cost was quite expensive bearing in mind room only, there was a cafe/restaurant/bar but no food as the chef had walked out apparently a few weeks ago and they've not been able to recruit a replacement."

"Fantastic stay, the hotel has been having work done to it but that made no difference at all to my stay. Cleaning staff deserve credit for the amazing job they are doing it is NOT easy at all! Very very friendly. Management were very attentive and had a good chat and a laugh which I find very important. Breakfast was absolutely amazing would have liked fruit and yoghurt option with few pastries but what you get for breakfast is absolutely amazing & value for money. Parking is easy enough, also plenty of shops in the town. Only downside for myself and partner is there are loads of stairs, we are both asthmatic, COPD and my partner has had stents in recently an suffers arthritis & angina, I know probably can't put lifts in as it's an old building but maybe offer second floor for people with medical issues? Over all dispite that it was absolutely amazing and I definitely recommend staying there"

"Very happy with everything. Was skeptical about eating at the restaurant due to some reviews online but cannot fault food or staff. Room (64) was perfect with balcony and view over the loch. Nice touch with complimentary small dessert at the end of meal with happy birthday writing on plate. Will definitely be back."
