I booked this hotel through Expedia and planned to check in at 8:00 PM. At check-in, the staff informed me that the water would be shut off starting at 10:00 PM. Since there were still approximately two hours remaining, I explicitly asked whether I would be able to shower, and I was clearly told that I could.
However, after entering the room, I undressed and turned on the shower, only to find that there was no water at all. This occurred despite the staff’s clear assurance that water would be available for at least two more hours. This was not only an inconvenience regarding showering, but a serious issue, as it also meant I could not use the toilet.
Under these circumstances, I believe this hotel should not be listed on Expedia at all. At the very least, this critical information should have been clearly disclosed online before payment. There was no notice or warning regarding a complete water shutdown, which I consider a serious misrepresentation of the accommodation.
When I raised this issue, none of the staff took responsibility and I was told to speak with the manager. The manager had already left early. I was told I would receive a call the next day, but no one contacted me. When I called myself, my call was disconnected twice. Eventually, I was told “sorry” and offered a compensation of only $17, which is completely unacceptable given the situation.
