"Pros: private entrance to our room as well as through main reception area, good breakfast buffet included, cozy room. Cons: the shower is coated in black paint or material of some kind to emulate the look of a volcano. However, the black hides the fact that either mold or mildew is growing quite a bit in the shower and is not being by cleaned / maintained properly. Everything else was clean and lovely, but mold/mildew needs to be addressed in the shower. Also the hotel is about 10 miles outside...

"Large room but it did smell of mildew. Shower is large but water went everywhere. Adjacent restaurant had an excellent dinner. Front desk staff was kind enough to put our name on the list and called when the table became available. Continental breakfast was good. Great location for access to the glacier."

"The location was excellent. The facility is nice. Dinner was really good. Breakfast was mediocre. However, it was very difficult to find with gps directing to wrong location and unclear that it is located in the parking lot of the waterfall. Also for the high price there should be outlets by the bed, tissues, perhaps lotion, water bottles, or robes, or coffee machine in the room. Our waterfall view had a tree blocking the falls and a dumpster in view."

"The beds were not the most comfortable. The pillows had zero neck support. And although they say there is a designated smoking area there were folks smoking where they shouldn’t and nobody stopped them. Those are my only complaints. The food was wonderful! Especially the vegetarian and vegan options. Well I can only speak on that because I am a vegetarian."

"We get that this area is massively popular so this hotel was our most expensive during the whole trip. However, I think it’s quite outdated. It needs to be modernised in terms of look and feel. The decor and bathroom design make it feel old and grubby. And it’s not grubby! It was clean but the style made it feel different. Same with the dining room, again, understand it’s expensive in Iceland, but for a £50 main course I’d like a “prettier” dining room. The tables and chairs feel sort of like a...
