Beautiful hotel! I wish I didn’t hear people talking next door and the thumping of footsteps down the hallway when I was trying to sleep. Other than that the room was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious!

Room was spacious. Location is central to many attractions. Black Crust Pizza is across the street and Vik Church just behind the hotel. Breakfast was good. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was amazing. Aside from the delicious meal, our server gave us a heads up on aurora activity that night. He gave us suggestions on where to view them and were able to catch the lights!

Disappointed with our room and lack of facilities for the price we paid. Photos of hotel are misleading as they show the newer, modern side of the hotel. We were placed in the older motel version which is conveniently left out of the photos. Room was clean but small with dated bath. Meals in restaurant were of good quality but charging $15 for 2 slices of bread is criminal. Breakfast was good.

Overpriced for what you get. Wall between rooms are so thin we could hear the people next to us having a conversation all night when trying to sleep. Poor ventilation so the room has a damp smell. If you stay in the standard rooms the bathroom is uncomfortably small.

Great location and breakfast, but room needs some attention This hotel is right in the heart of the city. We also loved the excellent breakfast buffet and appreciated the spacious bathroom. However, a few room details could use improvement. Cleanliness was a bit lacking (we found leftover food on the carpet near the bed), and maintenance needs work—a piece of the baseboard randomly popped off the wall during our stay. On top of that, the climate control didn't seem to work properly, and the room TV isn't a smart TV. Overall, it’s a nice hotel and I would still recommend it, provided they improve housekeeping and make a few updates to room comfort.

Nice large room with a great bathroom. Lots of hanging space for clothes and items. Clean and comfortable bed. Short walk to restaurants. The breakfast was delicious! The staff could be friendlier the woman at the front desk acted snooty.

The room we were provided smelled like the sewers. Even after we had asked the staff to check it out and they had cleaned it out, the smell still came back. The smell ruined the whole experience of staying of there.

The hotel is overrated. There are no managers on weekend or after 5pm. Staff just nods and no action taken or acknowledged. In two days, there were multiple instances where the hot water stops coming esp. for a very cold place. Water will immediately turn cold. My family were scared to take even shower. There are room with another building right next to it so there is no view. We landed in getting a accessible room. The third bed was placed next to the wall mounted heater where it gets hot and the legs touched couple of times in night so can't even sleep properly. From room window, can only see wild grass so you see dirty land only from the room. Also there is no privacy since next room is so close to our room. Coffee cups in the room had cracks. No use of any complaints since the staff will say that they can't do anything and manager is not there. Also there is water coming in room from on the window glass.

I am giving an "okay" rating for this hotel. I think I had more expectations for it based on location and price. My mom and I ate at the downstairs restaurant due to the horrible weather outside and the food wasn't great. However, it was the most expensive meal we had during our 9 days in Iceland. My mom and I both took showers (the soap provided smelled awful, so bring your own) and the room was so fogged up that we had to ask if they could bring a fan from downstairs as there was no fan in the bathroom or AC in the room to help. I will admit that the fan did help. My comforter on the bed was visibly dirty so thankfully I brought a blanket from home that I was able to use because I did not want to sleep with a dirty top cover. I probably would look to stay somewhere else if I visit again.
