"It was a great location"

"I had the pleasure of staying at The Haven House while in Holyhead. The owners were communicative before my arrival letting me know everything was ready and when I got there, they were incredibly friendly and told me about places to see in town. The room was clean and stocked with fresh towels and sheets. The hotel was quiet and allowed me to get a great nights sleep. I didn’t have the time to stay for breakfast but I saw families downstairs enjoying their hot food and everything looked great. The owners were present and serving food making sure everything was perfect for the guests. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this one ranks up there as one of my favorite experiences. I would recommend to everyone. 10/10"

"Great location but parking can be a problem. A lot of dogs, to the extent that dog owners have a separate bar and restaurant. Do book in the other restaurant in advance to be sure of getting a table when you want it. It’s the best place to eat in town and the staff are lovely. Getting a drink in the bar after dinner proved too difficult."

"A place with so much potential but a bizarre experience. Everything in the room - curtains, cushions, carpet - seemed new and very promising but the attention and service that should have accompanied that good start was non-existent. At no point during our stay did we meet our hosts or any staff apart from bar staff who, although very pleasant, showed no sign of knowing that we were guests staying in the 'ghostly' property where, once the bar was shut, we felt like we were the only, and not very welcome, occupants of the whole building. It would have been nice to have been warned that, unlike all other inns, hotels, etc., that we have stayed in, there would be no service of any kind to our room throughout our stay - no replenishment of towels or the coffee/tea tray. There was a vacuum cleaner outside our door so, had it been necessary, we could have done our own cleaning! The establishment serves food but there was no breakfast available which also seemed unusual in our experience."

"Fantastic location overlooking the water. Duchess room was superb - great view and feature bath in the window. Hotel is a castle type property. Good good too. Staff very helpful and friendly"

"Loved the ease of check in and the cleanliness. The guest house was also nice, it created a community feel. The only constructive suggestion is better lighting in the bedroom. We are seniors and I would not have been able to read a book in bed due to low light. "

"The exterior of the building was disappointing at first look though parking was great, lots of space , our room was spacious and suitable for a disabled person, lots of bars in the bathroom for safety though we are able bodied. The room was clean and bed was comfortable it even had an ironing board. The staff were very friendly and gave help on places to visit . We will visit again."
