Top Isle of Wight Hotel Reviews

Albion Hotel
6/10 Okay
"The hotel is beautiful and modern which we liked. It did lack in some big areas and I frankly expected better. The toilet was dirty on arrival and I don’t mean just a little. There were dried urine stains over the seat, the toilet, the base and the floor. Not sure how this could even be missed (which I can only assume means they don’t clean properly). It was resolved straight away but we shouldn’t have had to ask.
The staff in the hotel were good. However, not so much at the onsite restaurant (The Rock). We found the service to be poor at the restaurant. We had to wait nearly an hour for a simple main meal which we were told was because of a lack of staff. This wasn’t communicated until after we paid. The prices are also too expensive.
We had breakfast every day at this restaurant. The value for money is poor. They do not make it clear what is included. They will only let you order 1 item from the hot menu which is not stated anywhere. So you could effectively be paying £25 for some hot porridge. You also have to self serve everything including hot drinks and toast etc. At this price point I would expect a level of table service.
Finally, the room is lovely. The terrace and view is amazing. We loved this. Again though there were some minor things that could be improved. This isn’t a cheap hotel and they need to have a better finish and eye for detail. Carpet edges and joins frayed. Holes in bedsheets. Cracked lampshades.
It’s a shame but we probably wouldn’t return."

One Holyrood Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean, kind staff, beautiful building and architecture. "

The Q Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Cosy chic hotel smells Devine and staff lovely,
Can’t rate amenities or breakfast as the spa and breakfast wasn’t available due to coming out of season. "

Fountain Hotel Isle of Wight by Greene King Inns
8/10 Good
"Breakfast was good, dinner very disappointing.
A caution to anyone with mobility issues. The rooms are on the 1st to 3rd floors, the steps are steep and there is no lift. The staff were very obliging helping me with my bag, but it was still a bit difficult manging two flights of stairs. Plumbing in my bedroom was a bit dicey, but I guess it's an old building"

The Ocean View Hotel
8/10 Good
"The hotel is currently under renovation but the work did not interrupt the stay. The room was clean and adaquate, but things like the curtains and carpets need attention. The staff were very helpful and polite. There weren’t many people staying there so it was very quiet and easy to park, but I should imagine parking would be difficult in peak season as spaces were very limited compared to the size of the hotel. The bar was well stocked, but the bar area/room needed decorating. The hotel is in a very convenient position with lovely sea views. I would stay there again."

The Lakes Rookley Holiday Park
8/10 Good
"Park lovely and quiet as not peak season.
Excellent location.
Lovely walks for dog on park.
Luxury caravan for 6 but 3rd room very very small with hardly any room between the two single beds.
Dining room table only had 4 chairs even though for six.
Lots of storage space in kitchen.
When stripped the bed, mattress not particularly clean.
Hot tub private but had to buy a light for safety as no external light outside by it and couldn’t see a thing out there!
Despite this we had a fabulous break and the staff were really friendly.

The Wight Mouse Inn
10/10 Excellent
"A very warm welcome was extended to myself and my dog. The room was lovely, warm and cosy. The evening meal was excellent."

The Bay Colwell
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful stay, everything was great, especially the hot tub, which we really enjoyed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed.
We stayed 3 nights and had an amazing experience overall. Vanessa at the reception was very nice and helpful and guided us well.
The only small point was the pool hours until 5 PM, which we wish it had been open longer."

Royal Esplanade Hotel
8/10 Good
"Excellent location for those without a car. Situated alongside the Ryde public transport hub which includes train, bus & hovercraft options. A once very elegant hotel now perhaps a little tired but still full of charm. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was beautifully cooked traditional English fare."
