Loved Selina!! It was right on the beach, total surfer vibe. Exactly what you want when you go to Jaco! I would highly recommend this property to anyone regardless of vibe!

Look no further...
My favorite place in Jaco. Not only is it on the beach, it has its own bar and restaurant, as well as a pool. Staff are friendly and kind, truly first-rate. Interesting mix of guests. Free salsa lessons. On-site surfing school. Secure parking lot if you're driving. Pura vida!

Upon checkin we weren’t offered an upgrade or complimentary drink. We went to our room and realized we had no towels. I went out and asked and they said they would be right down with them. I didn’t want to be pushy but we had just spent 6hrs in the car. We waited about 30 minutes and I asked again and again was told a few minutes. We finally went to the beach with no towels just to cool off. After my 4th ask we finally received them. When I went to wash my hands lastnight after using the bathroom there was no hand soap. Last straw was this morning when showering I realized there was women’s hair all over the shower. Gross. 30 seconds in the shower stops completely. Needless to stay it wasn’t a good experience. I expressed my concerns and the receptionist just said sorry? It wasn’t her fault but this was a bad experience.

This is certainly not the standard of service we strive to provide.Lack of Upgrade or Complimentary Drink: Upon check-in, we aim to make every guest feel welcome, and I apologize if this did not happen in your case. We will remind our staff to offer all available upgrades and amenities to enhance your stay.Delay in Providing Towels: The delay in delivering towels is unacceptable, especially after a long journey. I understand how frustrating it must have been to wait multiple times. We will address this with our housekeeping team to ensure timely service in the future.Missing Hand Soap: The absence of basic toiletries is a significant oversight. We will reinforce our checks to make sure all amenities are in place before guests arrive.Unclean Shower and Water Issues: Cleanliness is paramount, and I apologize for the state of the shower. Additionally, having the water stop during a shower is unacceptable. We will investigate these issues thoroughly and ensure they are resolved.We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve. I understand an apology cannot fully make up for your experience, but we hope you will consider giving us another chance to provide the exceptional service we are known for. Great beach hostel. Visited early November and was less busy and hence wasnt very socially active. The food and drinks are great and affordable and they accept cash and card. Great beach right in front of you. The facilities are good. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy is that they dont take care of the rooms well. I rented the expensive cylinders to get the feel of it but in fact didn’t enjoy much. The space is limited, the bed sheet had bird poop on it and signs of bugs. Couldn’t sleep well at night because of itching and unable to control the ac temperature (may be ac was malfunctioning or I wasn’t able to change its mode and temperature). The staff were kind and helpful in their way.

The hostel was super cute and colorful I loved every part of the property, the staff answered any questions I had and were nice. The private room was very clean, nice, and aside from the community kitchen, we had a coffee machine and mini fridge in our room. The restaurant and bar on the property had great food and the daily cocktail promos were great. Short walking distance from shopping center, restaurants and grocery store. If you like adventure and a chill environment with a mix of young travelers and families I recommend Selina.

Amazing location on the beach and walkable to many restaurants. I travelled alone and felt safe. The surfing lessons were EXCELLENT. The staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. The food was also great!

The first room I stayed in had obvious prior mold issues. I had a dehumidifier in my room which I left running. On day 3, there were some plumbing issues which the front desk tried to have fixed. The plumbing issues continued to be a problem the following day so we were placed in another room. The 2nd room was great and we didn’t mind having to share a king size bed. There were several trip hazards around the property. The service at the bar was slow. The food was ok. The front desk staff - Luisa and Andres were GREAT!

Loved the vibes!
People very friendly. It was a last minute stop over between Manuel Antonio to San Jose. My daughter took a surf lesson. Loved it!

This place is great for proximity to the beach, beach bar, pool, and the staff is great, helpful, and kind. My only complaint is our room was not cleaned everyday as promised. It smelled musky due to there being no windows and no ventilation unless we left the door open (hard to do this with mosquitos and the heat). Bathroom itself was also musky, moldy, and poor ventilation. I would expect a better room being how pricey a night is here.

Selina was a perfect choice for budget that did not disappoint. For it being a Hostel it really gave off hotel vibes. The staff was super friendly, the property was extremely clean and well kept. The food on property was out of this world and not to mention the convenience of literally being on the beach was amazing.

Bra ställe för veganer!
Jättemysig stämning. Många som vi lärde känna som reste ensamma och vågorna var perfekta att surfa i! Vi var 2 veganer som reste och det fanns frukost till oss. Vi kunde välja mellan avokadotoast med frukt till istället för ägg och smoothiebowl. Det fanns även vegansk hamburgare när vi åt lunch. 5 minuter bort ligger den bästa veganska resturangen någonsin! Den heter SER resturante. Ni som är veganer och åker hit måste testa denna resturang!!!

My wife and I had an amazing time at Selina Jaco. The facility itself was beautiful - stunning beachfront, beautiful pool area, and lovely and quirky rooms to stay in. The staff was wonderful and we enjoyed our meals as well as renting a surfboard from the shop. For an excellent overall experience we were pleasantly surprised with how affordable our stay was. We would highly recommend staying at Selina Jaco!

expedia noted this down as a hotel, upon arriving I started noticing its a hostel. Not what we were expecting and what we were told. Not a bad place but definitely not what we were expecting. Another thing that really threw me off was the staff was not as friendly as we were expecting... disappointed because of that. I live in Miami where I am use to paying $17 for a drink... How in the world did I get charged $27 for 1 drink at hotel Selina.. It makes no sense to me. not pleased unfortunately

Nice hostel!
Nice Hostal but the bathroom was not so good without mirror (at least it the one I used next to my room)… The pool was so good and it’s located right in front of the beach ! The restaurant was a bit pricey…

Perfectly situated right on the beach and close to the main strip for restaurants and shops. Beautiful pool, lots of fun lounge chairs on the property and beach front restaurant, with tasty food. Very pleased with the surf school affiliated with the hotel, as well!
