I stayed here for a conference at the university nearby, but it has definitely seen better days. My room was really nice and big (19th floor) and on the back side of the hotel, so no road noise, which woke up other people. I did hear the call to prayer almost every morning at 4:15am, then again and again. I sort of liked it, but it wasn't the hour I wanted to wake up. My A/C worked fine (too fine- the standard set point was 16 C which is WAY too cold for me, but other rooms didn't cool at all when set to 16). It's true I didn't have much hot water, but I had just enough that I wasn't cursing and punching things from the cold water, so it was fine. Only one elevator was serving all the floors with rooms above 5 where the lobby is, so that meant sometimes it took 10-15 minutes to get to where you needed to go and stairs were not readily available.... Not the standards one would expect in USA, Europe, Australia, but breakfast was good, staff were all working hard, and it got the job done.
