"I had purchased 2 breakfasts for my stay for my mother. The morning of checkout, the hostess had me write my name and room number on the breakfast vouchers. It was scrutinized several times by our waiter at breakfast. Why? It was so bizarre. I paid for these myself. I have stayed once a month for a few months and this has never happened to me before. Sadly, the breakfast was not good as it used to be. It was inedible."

This is an affordable hotel in the middle of it all. You can walk to all the shows. A trek to Dumbo is about 30 min by train. You can walk (1 mi or so—20 min at my pace) to both bus terminals. The rooms were clean. I didn’t hear noise or construction on the 26th floor.
The only downside was the lobby bathroom was closed when my son tried to use it upon check out. It seems like no one was actively cleaning/repairing (whatever they claimed at the time) it at the time while we waited.
We didn’t eat the breakfast bc we’re in NYC (bagels, duh!). Lots of ppl were milling about the dining area though. Go early if you don’t want chaos."
