We stayed over for one night. This property is situated between Pretoria's two major shopping malls-the Broolyn mall and the Menlyn Mall. Brooklyn is about three minutes drive from the property and Menlyn about seven minutes. It is situated in a very quiet affluent neighborhood with 24 hour security. Only guests are allowed in at the gate of the property. The size of the room is quite generous as is the bathroom. There is a lounge between the two rooms on the first floor which I think is a nice touch. The property also has a private pool. Our room had a fridge and Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary pods. The service was good and friendly and the manager, Loveridge deserves special mention. He took time to make us feel at home and answered all our questions. Breakfast was also good and included eggs benedict if that is your fancy. I would recommend tis property.
Le milner gest house est un hôtel confortable avec de beaux espaces. J'y ai passé du bon temps. Petit bémol la connexion internet n'est pas au top du top... Mais je recommande quande même cet hôtel ou j'ai très bien dormi. De plus le personel est sympathique.

The guesthouse is well situated in a very good neighbourhood. Unfortunately the staff at the hotel needs to be trained. The reception was not done in a professional matter as they did not even have a copy of my booking available in hard copy, Their systems were down and even on check out documentation had not yet been completed. There was confusion about the billing even though I had settled the account upon booking the accommodation. This could be an excellent guesthouse. Just up the training of the staff !

Bizarre service
This is a beautiful facility that is utterly spoiled by management and service that is either totally untrained or not trained for this level of accommodation. I suspect the former. I can write pages of what was wrong, but the following is a good indication of the basics:
On arrival the staff and including the gardener, were sitting in the communal lounge, watching TV. This remained the case throughout our 3 day stay, with staff also taking their meals there and we felt like intruders.
Returning after our first night, we found our room unmade. They did not have a spare key to open the door.
We had to ask for just about everything. Towels, toilet paper, serviettes, etc.
Impossible to understand how an owner could allow a considerable investment to be so mismanaged. The fact that we were the only guests over a three day stay is probably a good indication of what's going on. Pity, because it could be one of the top private guest houses in Pretoria.

Go somewhere else!
Wrong set of keys given to me. Could not enter gate and main door with it. Went outside and rang the buzzer. No reply at all. Had to wake another guess to open for me. Also no kettle in room. Asked after the first night, still no kettle. Breakfast took forever. Nobody ever at reception.
Enjoyed a pleasant, quiet stay for one night on route to OR Tambo after meeting a friend for dinner at my favourite Pretoria Mall, which is the nearby Brooklyn Mall. Had only upon check in contact with the friendly staff member at reception. The room provided enough space and comfort with everything clean and at a good standard. The well-kept garden and many trees added to the tranquil atmosphere. As I was the only guest for the night I am not able to comment on the noise level if the other rooms would be occupied. An early morning appointment made me skip breakfast. With many other guest houses available in the area would not mind to try them out first before I would comment on whether I would return or not.
