I booked on Expedia but there must have been a glitch in the system.The booking reflected one instead of two occupants. That meant that only my husband could have breakfast. Even through the room was expensive the staff didn’t try to resolve the issue so I could have breakfast. When we went to grab a Bolt downtown for 200 Zar, the front door staff tried discouraging us saying it could be dangerous and wanted to hook us up with a taxi for 600 Zar. We declined and took a bolt and felt like the staff were trying to scam us. I would give overall customer service between 2 and 3 stars.

Reception staff were friendly and very efficient. The rooms/hotel are no longer in their prime and could use some updating, but they are clean and had everything we needed for our layover. Complimentary airport shuttle was on time. The breakfast buffet was also complimentary which wasn't clear when we booked. Overall, we'd stay there again, mostly due to the close proximity to a wide range of restaurants and the airport.

When we arrived we were told we were upgraded to a five star hotel room in the hotel as there were water leaks in the booked suite king sized bed room. The bus driver then told us they needed the suites for the convention. The rooms we got in the hotel instead had 2 single small beds too small for me and had to kettle etc. I told the person who brought the cases to the room and the house keepers just came and Made the single beds again! Was a joke and I booked this king size bed the night before an 18 hr flight to Hong Kong and I couldn’t get sleep with the small bed - I demand a refund ! Damien Heffernan
