"It is a very good nice, clean, and beautiful property
our room didn't have a balcony, very inconvenient, however same price as with the balcony.
Also the reception stuff could say very little about the programs, not even the right hours of operation."
"We were unfamiliar with the Haliburton Post House and booked two nights , mid week, on a whim to get out of town. The room was beautiful, the food and wine selection was great. We took advantage of their waterfront and toys on what may have been the hottest day of the year. Thanks to the staff who made us feel welcome and were the highlight of our stay."
"Just found this lovely resort by accident and I’m so happy we did. We stayed for 1 night as we were going for a quick trip.
Here are the PROS & CONS;
The staff throughout the hotel/resort/restaurant were always very polite and happy to help! The room we stayed in was quite big which was nice but it could use a couch & an actual table instead of a side table with two chairs. The beach area was nice but could use an upgrade as there’s some uneven areas that need fixing. Lots of activities to do such as beach volleyball(you need your own ball, I think. We didn’t ask as we had our own), peddle boats, row boats, paddle boards and kayaks. They also provide life jackets!
Oh I almost forgot, there’s also 2 pools on site, one indoors and one outdoors, plus a sauna and spa! This resort has it all!
The restaurant: breakfast was all you can eat ($20 adults, $10 for kids). It was not bad, they had a variety of things such as scrambled eggs (my kids found it too watery), bacon, sausage, mini pancakes, French toast, potatoes, breakfast beans, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea, oatmeal, orange juice as well as a couple of bottled juices.
Lunch: ordered the Hidden Valley Burger which was okay(needs more flavour), roasted beet salad, was just a salad with some beets and a small one at that, not worth the price!
Overall, we had a great time and experience! My kids had a blast & didnt want to leave! We will definitely be returning!!!!"
"Great location on the way to Algonquin. Family run and the hosts are very attentive. My son and I had a great Father’s Day here exploring the area, and there’s even a beautiful trail behind the hotel with a scenic river. The rooms are comfy and beds are well-kept and clean. Will be coming back here in the future with other family members."
