"Building is an historic landmark and has been maintained in that fashion. Interesting display case in the hall behind the front desk with many historic notes and objects.
We had an Executive King Suite, which is 3 rooms. A "front" room, which I called the "parlor", a bathroom and a bedroom. Naturally, modern amenities have been added. Room has a dorm-sized fridge(was very cold) and a small counter with a sink and faucet. There was also an antique armoire with an ironing board and iron, a bathrobe and an extra pillow. Bathroom had a shower enclosure and new fixtures. Bedroom had king-sized bed, large TV, chair and luggage stand. There were windows in each room with plenty of natural light.
The only thing I would have changed was to put LED bulbs in the light fixtures in the main room and bedroom. The high ceilings with the fixtures having regular bulbs made it just a bit dim in the room in the evening.
The only real inconvienence was the parking situation. The staff will explain parking and show you where the nearby extended parking spots are.
Unfortunately, our schedule did not give us time to visit The Bar Winslow(attached to hotel), but it appeared to be an interesting attraction. The included breakfast was quick and easy with local pastries that were delicious!
Staff was very polite and helpful.
All in all, it was a great experience full of nostalgia and history."
