Farmstay in Mahaska County

"The best feature here was their breakfast. The waffles, eggs and meats were hot and tasty. It would have been nice if they had staff to wipe off tables when people left or at least provided water and a towel to do so ourselves as paper napkins stuck to the sticky syrup that had been spilt on the tables. The hot tub was not usable due to some chemical imbalance. Our bathroom had dried flakes of mud on the floor. We wiped them up with tissues but it left us wondering what was on the carpet that we couldn't see. After requesting a quiet room we were told there may be late night noises due to the activities of some of the clientele which they had no control of. They were spot on. The first night the loud TV and the slamming of the door next to us kept us up until well after 2:00 am and that was with the room fan on high. The second night was the same. Our former stay there was not a pleasant one but we agreed to give them another chance as in years past they were a fine place to stay and we thought and hoped, it might have just been an off few days. However, their standards are not what they once were so we will go elsewhere in the future. "

"Breakfast was banal but expected. Biggest complaint is no elevator. How can a hospitality facility build a two story hotel without an elevator. What about guests like my wife and I forced to take a second floor room. We had to drag our heavy bags up the stairs and down when we left."

"Pool and hot tub out of service, tub wouldn’t drain, building needs attention all together and the washing machine we had to put a piece a paper in the ton to get it to work. Not the best property "

"The staff is very accommodating and so friendly. The ladies who run breakfast are exceptionally nice and do a fantastic job! "

"Check in staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. There seemed to be some plumbing issues and we could here everyone's plumbing and our toilet plugged. The walls were also fairly thin. That all being said, the beds were very comfortable. Would i stay again? Probably."
