"If you book through a third party be sure your dates are not going to change. I tried to change via Expedia and the resort itself, and it was going to cost me over $300 so triple check you can make the dates before booking. Also, if you prepay for a night, bring that specific credit card with you as they ask for it during check in. Bring your patience. Check is long and complicated. I would also bring a pool towel. I saw some people find where they were kept, but not until the last day of my trip.
The food at the resort was good and reasonable priced. This was a nice surprise. Other reviewers mentioned the smell of pot. I did get that around the entrance and the pool but not near my room and it wasn't as bad as I was fearing.
This is an old building, so you are not going to get a super large space or a super modern space. Some of the electrical plugs would not hold the cord in, it would just fall out. There were spots on the ceiling and just the normal wear and tear you see at an older place. It was clean so it wasn't an issue for me. You do not get housekeeping for a weekend stay. They will bring up more towels but if you are expecting daily trash removal and a made bed, this is not the place for you.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and it doesn't get old sitting in a hot tub looking at the ocean. This is not a five-star resort and you are not paying five-star pricing. It very much is what you expect for the price point. All in all, a nice place."
