"My buddy and I arrived at the hotel after a ten hour day of motorcycle riding and we were both frazzled, sweaty and tired. The woman running reception when we arrived was pleasant and helpful, getting us checked in with no fuss, pointing out where there was cold water in the lobby (we were sweaty) and letting us know we could park our bikes right in front of the door for their safety/security.
When we got to our room, we saw that it had a single king bed instead of two queens. I immediately realized this was my fault and I had screwed up the booking process in Expedia. We trooped back downstairs, where I admitted that it was my fault and asked to be re-booked into another room with two beds.
Here's what really impressed me about our stay and the woman running check-in: in a bigger city, the hotelier would have said "Well, because you booked online, blahblahblah" and would have upcharged us to change rooms and spent another 10 minutes clicking around on a computer to change everything. Instead, she said "No problem," hit three buttons on her keyboard and immediately put us into a new room. No charges, no wait time, no nonsense. In our tired state, this was a miracle and we were very greatful.
Hotel was great: clean, new, modern, comfortable. Thanks for helping out two weary riders!"
