Hotel is in a fantastic position on top of a hill with a panoramic view of Kampala.
Staff are generally helpful and the hotel environment clean and tidy.
Quite easy to get around Kampala from the hotel and on a good day about 40mins to get to Entebbe airport.

I didn’t like anything, even the stuff was rude and food was so bad, service is extremely slow … I’ll never go back!
Highly recommended!! Hotel is beautiful, wonderful views of Kampala and clean. There were events going on each day - conferences, weddings, engagements, comcerts. Staff is attentive!

The Guest Relations team was fantastic, keeping us in the loop and proactively apologizing for any disruptions related to the event. We really appreciated their attentiveness. The only real issue we encountered was some noise from above our room – it sounded like furniture being moved and footsteps, which continued until midnight throughout the stay. Also, we had pre-ordered a cake for Easter, to be collected at noon, but it didn't was ready until almost 1:40 PM, which delayed my program.

One night they had a band that cranked up the amplifier so loud you couldn't hear yourself think inside the room. I had to move to get away from the noise. Otherwise, this is a spectacular hotel in Kampala with great views.

Marriott is losing its customer centricity, it seems to be a global phenomenon. It has become a common observation. I have had better experiences with other hotel chains atleast in this year.
Hotel is situated on a hill top and relatively safe and secure. Stayed in a standard room with a shared balcony. Balcony extends to adjacent rooms but the view of the city was excellent. Room was clean, comfortable but a bit dated. Service staff were attentive and friendly. The rooms are not sound proof and the music from the restaurant and sky bar is audible in the evenings. Had a good selection of international and local food at breakfast and lunch. Recommend to enjoy the sunset views and drinks at the sky bar in the evenings or head to the well-equipped fitness room for a workout. There are a couple of supermarkets in the vicinity at the foot of the hill within walking distance from the hotel. Overall a good stay.
Pick up and drop off from Airport to hotl was really terrible.
Driver was really speeding and we felt very unconfrotable.
I told driver several of time to slow down.Very bad driving.

We recently stayed at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Kampala Skyz and, honestly, it was a mixed bag at best. We arrived early around 1:10 pm, but our room wasn’t ready yet. Check-in is supposed to be at 2 pm, but we didn’t get any updates until after 2:10 pm when we had to go ask at reception. They said the room had been ready for a while but no one bothered to inform us—definitely a communication breakdown.
We requested a quiet room but ended up with one right above the main walkway to the reception, and the property had a constant outdoor party. It was loud and made sleeping nearly impossible. Guest relations offered an apology but no solution for the noise, which was disappointing. We booked the room for two people, but the amenities and setup only covered one. To top it off, I found a long black hair on the bed linen, which looked like it came from housekeeping, and it was.
We also ordered two Eid cakes from the hotel for 10 am, but when we came to collect them at 11, we had to wait another 30 minutes because they weren’t ready.
We had to switch rooms because of the noise. The second room was quieter but looked out over the staff entrance and garbage area. By then, we were too tired to move again. All in all, while the Protea Hotel by Marriott Kampala Skyz carries a strong brand name, it felt empty on the customer service front. I’m not sure I’d stay here again unless things improve significantly.

Lovely large suite & comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Restaurant & terrace bar had good & tasty food options & some great entertainment during our stay. Reception staff were very helpful & friendly. Would stay here again & happy to recommend the Protea Skyz Marriott hotel Kampala, Uganda
