"The only annoying thing was that you have to give a 500 bot security deposit. I had the four person room and it was excellent with its own shower and bathroom. They also provided a free towel and a nice blanket to keep warm. It was a very good experience, especially for a youth hostel type hotel. "

"Staff were pretty nice and people are super nice who are staying there. Events to go and do things didn’t get to do much as I was visiting for a festival but still great!"

"This was a great hostel, the staff were genuinely friendly and the hostel itself was clean and in a great location. It's close to the action and the walking street but you can't hear a peep when your are tucked away in your room. The hostel was brand new when we stayed in it so they were still working out some kinks and doing some renos but when it is all done it will be even better. "This was my first stay in a hostel and I am glad it was here. The staff were amazing upon check in. I felt safe and the facilities were clean. It was very close to the airport so made getting transport early the next day very easy. Good wifi. I wish I actually got to stay longer because I feel like there was some fun areas I didn't get to check out! If I come back to Phuket I will definitely stay here again."

"The staff were all very helpful! The area around the hostel has live music different vendors for food or souvenirs. Also it is a walkable distance to Old Town Phuket. (Not close to the clubs if you are looking to experience more nightlife but lots of bars around the area) "

"Very noisy neighbouring bar playing loud music on one side of the hotel every night until midnight or 1am. It's an old grand house that is losing a lot of quality and has been converted into a jumbled café full of stuff. The staff are very friendly and kind. The beds and linen are exceptionally comfortable. One of the showers needs a lot of maintenance."

"It was a decent stay but I wasn't a fan of the cleanliness of the place. Inside my cubby wasn't the cleanest as there was some stuff on the walls and it made me feel grossed out and the moldy wet smell wasn't my favorite either. Also, the beds were hard and not all that comfy.
Other than that it was in a very convenient area and liked that I was able to quickly get some food or do laundry without hastle."

"Pros : Helpful staff. Water and cookies available to all in lobby. There’s a pool. There’s a shopping mall close.
Cons : The “family room” is minuscule. We were two and had just enough space for us and luggage. There is no way a 4 people family could fit in there with luggage. We booked a ride to Koh Phi Phi from the hotel, the driver was late and it took 3 tries to book it as the computer & app didn’t work."

"What a wonderful hotel. I’d give The Yama Hotel 10 Stars if possible. The staff were excellent! Tong, Joshua, Mint at the front desk, the entire staff at the restaurant, and the cleaners who did the rooms were all absolutely wonderful. The staff was super friendly, professional, and helpful.
The breakfast buffet was excellent! Great variety, healthy choices, great coffee, tea, etc…. and the service was amazing.
The pool was lovely. Very clean. Perfect after a day at the beach or walking. Lots of lounge pool An exercise room that is perfect for a quick workout. Dumbbells, treadmills, and equipment that all worked. There’s a spa on the premises if you go for that.
The hotel restaurant offers excellent food for about the same price as you’d pay outside. The food was delicious and the fruit smoothies were excellent.
It’s about a 1 mile walk to Kata Beach or you can take any of their many daily free shuttles down to or back from the beach. Call front desk to reserve your spot. Kata Beach lounge chairs & umbrellas can be rented for 100 TB for 2 people. The beach guys will try to charge you more, but bargain. 50 TB for fresh, chilled coconut on the beach. Lovely beach & great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Watch the sun. It’ll getcha.
The rooms in this hotel were large, immaculately clean, and stocked with goodies you might want to eat. Bottled water is replenished each day. There’s a combo safe in the room. Balconies overlook the beautiful pool. "
"Extraordinary views, great staff, great food, great service, friendly, and went the extra mile to make our stay great. Can’t recommend this place enough. "
Hostels are a great way to stay for a lower cost, so you can save your budget for going out. You can enjoy activities like shopping, and the beaches create an appealing natural setting.
