"Cliff notes: Decent place, spacious room and comfortable bed, but elevator wait times are extreme. GIVE YOURSELF 5–15 EXTRA MINS FOR THE ELEVATOR, especially around check-in and checkout. I would stay again for the price.
Details: I would stay here again because the price was good, the room was spacious and appeared clean. The photos are a little misleading when it comes to the view, as I couldn’t find anything resembling the view pictured while I was there. Some of the staff were extremely warm and friendly and some not so much. The room didn’t have a mini refrigerator, which isn’t a big deal and is somewhat common in NYC, but the ice machines on most floors didn’t work and there was no plastic bag in the ice bucket.
One important note: It could take 10–15 minutes to get an elevator around check-in and checkout times. There is something really weird about the elevators. Multiple times I was waiting with 10+ people for an elevator going down, only for one to arrive and then go up. One time about eight of us got on anyway and ended up joking about it together. I wasn’t in a rush, so it wasn’t a huge issue for me and I’d deal with it again to save some money. But if you’re claustrophobic or need to be somewhere at a specific time, just be warned."
