We had a great stay at the Sequoia Lodge. Location was perfect. Just far enough out of town to get a slice of the river to yourself. Great access to the river edge. No scrambling. There are stairs. Great advice in hikes in the area and right across the street from the deli and a must see coffee spot. Roasted on the presence and lots of interesting stories and semiprecious stones.
And it’s dog friendly. Highly recommend
This is the best place to stay on the Kern, the staff is amazing the property is always spotless. The private river access and a convenient little store and restaurant right across the street!
The room was cool and clean when we checked in. The grills outside were clea as well. The seating area was nice. The staff was super friendly with our dog. I caught a rainbow trout right outside from the hotel. Loved our stay...
We had the premier room for our short stay, and being our first time booking at Sequoia Lodge, we are glad we did. The room had the best views, with a small patio and easy access to the River. It was very quiet because we booked a Sunday/Monday night stay, and it was at the beginning of the Fall, so the place was pretty empty. We chose this Lodge because it was pet-friendly, so we could bring our beloved pet. We loved the room, but it could have been cleaned a little better. Lack of dusting and disinfecting was the major problem. There were also cob webs all over the outside lamp. The rooms were well-equipped, but the beds were not comfortable. It felt like we were sleeping on springs, and the wheels on the bed frame were broken. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. We would go back. Thank you.
The staff were wonderful, check in was a breeze, they were able and willing to accomodate our dog at the last minute and we are so grateful for that; location was good with a very nice deli/general store right across the street (super convenient and good food); being right on the river was really nice too. Property shows it's age a bit, but what can you do but say yay! They're here and they're operating in this lovely location and we are thankful for them! We definitely recommend Sequoia Lodge!
