We stayed for 4 nights and it was wonderful. The staff is excellent all around! I think the bikes should be complimentary to the guests but would definitely stay again. Thanks for the great stay.

It’s a nice place and convenient to everything! I stayed there twelve years ago and seems different perhaps new management. Difficulty booking as website did not work well for a phone and couldn’t get anyone to answer phone. Booked on Expedia instead. Breakfast weak!

We enjoyed the variety of freshly made breakfast. There were also continental breakfast set aside if we desired it. Beach towels/coolers were provided. Water, snacks and sodas were provided. It felt like home. Pedal bike rental was on site. Very convenient. We didn’t like the mosquitoes, but were provided bug spray

Really enjoyed our time in KW and this location is great proximity to all the touristy things. Parking was a little hairy with limited spots. The noise level at night was a bit much, but that’s what you get for close to the action. Warm breakfast was great. Cleaning crew was excellent.

Pros: -You feel secluded from the surrounding neighborhood. -Surrounded by many different plants and trees. Very lush. It is like a tropical getaway. -Very clean room and main house. -The staff was pretty friendly. My wife did have one get snippy with her about water. She asked for bottled water (the fridge was empty of it) and the staff person said "There's water on the table" (they had water with fruit wedges, etc in a pitcher). We wanted bottled for our bike trip. -Adults only is nice, no noisy kids running around. Cons: -The surrounding neighborhood can be noisy during primetime hours but does quiet down after 10 pm. -Breakfast was good but other reviewers have said it could be better. I sort of agree. We were paying $500 a night and it could have been more robust. I wish they had a hot tub. The tub they have is called I believe a soaking tub. It is 93 degrees but not quite like a hot tub on sore muscles. -The cottage rooms are SMALL. The online pictures are deceiving. The Papaya and Lime rooms are very tiny.

Amazing stay
Amazing Bed and Breakfast! We stayed in the Papaya Room and it was very cozy and beautifully decorated. The grounds are so beautiful with plenty of seating for a delicious breakfast prepared by the staff or to just relax by the pool. Great location close to Duval street.

The Mermaid and the Alligator is an awesome place to stay! We spent almost two weeks here and it felt just like home! It’s within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and fun excursions! The staff is amazing and the grounds are spectacular! We highly recommend visiting Key West and staying at this lovely B&B! We will be back!

Great place for a short visit
We spent 5 nights in Key West. The hotel is in a great location and the grounds are beautiful. The open kitchen provides snacks and soft drinks, and the included breakfast was a treat. Service was wonderful. Our room and bathroom was so tiny that my husband and I could could barely manage if we were both inside. The porch and gardens were definitely a highlight.

This place is fantastic! It is a small, quiet oasis with lush gardens around the little pool and patio eating area. It is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants on Duvall Street, and the staff was super friendly! They served a good breakfast every morning. They provide towels and totes and water for the beach. Bikes were available for rent on the property. Perfect!!

beautiful historic building with unique decor, en-suite bathrooms and lovely hot breakfast served in the private gardens! staff are friendly and attentive, the “public “areas are well maintained and comfortable, definitely recommend this beautiful B&B and if my travels bring me back to key west we will surely stay here again!! also close but removed from the late night parties on Duval st- great FREE bus loop to get around too!

What a cool place! Only 9 unique rooms on a beautifully manicured / landscaped property. Seemed tucked away, but close walking to Duval St - the main drag for dining and entertainment. Wonderful staff who attentive to all your needs. As a B & B, a changing, freshly prepared breakfast each day. Plus, snacks during the day leading up to Happy Hour.

Mermaid and Alligator was well maintained by the managers and staff! Everything was perfect and all our reasonable requests were fulfilled. Breakfast was always top quality with coffee, soft drinks and light snacks available 24/7. The room was straightened, bed made, and cleaned everyday. It’s a very quiet retreat to relax all day or after an exciting and exhausting day touring historic markers or just walking the streets of Key West!

This was a really great stay. The place is a work of art, very nicely decorated and cozy. The room is comfortable and the bathroom has a good size. The staff is friendly. They make drinks and snacks available for free in the kitchen. The location is very convenient, quiet but still close to the main Duval St.

Absolutely wonderful! Diana and her staff were sweet and took great attention and care to the premises. Breakfast and happy hour was such a nice addition to start our day/our night! We consistently saw staff cleaning rooms/tidying up the common areas/and asking us if we needed anything. We felt very safe walking around the area and the convenience of getting to Duval street without the chaos and loud noises definitely made us want to stay here again when we revisit! Our room was also lovely and the amenities were great. 10/10 recommend!

This is a beautiful property. Our cottage was so clean and comfortable. But the best was yet to come.. each morning we had the best breakfast. The cook was so nice and everything tasted fresh and good. The yard is very nicely decorated and is kept spotless. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here while you are in Key West. It is within walking distance of everything. All of the staff were wonderful. We didn't use the pool so I cannot say anything about that, but the other guests told us it was great.
