My experience at this Howard Johnson was not good. I had to leave a day early on a three night booking, and was promised, but never received, a refund for the last night.
I had spotty wifi access the first night, which did not bother me too much. However, the next day, I could not access the internet at all. I reported the problem to the man at the desk, who came to my room and tested it on his phone, which seemed to work OK. He said the ISP had just fixed some issues and he would be calling them ISP to get the problem fixed.
The next day I still had no access. Before leaving for the day, I was told that the ISP would be looking at the issue again. I also discovered that the wifi was odd and only worked within each room in the motel. My devices worked fine elsewhere, just not here.
After a day of sightseeing, I returned to find that there was still no wifi in my room. I told the man at the desk that I could not stay another night without internet access and that I was leaving. I asked for a refund for the last night and was told that I would have to ask for it through Expedia since they could not otherwise process it. I agreed.
Since then I have not received a refund, even after multiple requests. I feel robbed and this cast a big shadow on my little relax trip to Kingston. Very unprofessional, I obviously will never stay there again.
