"We chose to stay hear because it was our dream on this backpacking trip to stay in a castle. The castle is beautiful, warm, with the wood fireplace burning. I will say that for a very old property they keep it extremely unkept. It is of older charm, so keep that in mind (older carpets, less electrical plugs). The food , staff, and the stay was amazing, I only wish we weren’t backpacking so we could’ve stayed longer. One thing to note are that the parking situation threw us off alittle because...

"The whole stay was fantastic! The staff are ALL so welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere when you walk in is warm. The breakfast was great plenty to choose from as well. The concierges are more than accommodating, the scenery and setting phenomenal. It was peaceful, the bar lounge is comfortable and a gorgeous view - even when it is raining! We had a lovely relaxing stay and enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. We enjoyed a drink in the bar after our meal . All the staff were very friendly and helpful. "Excellent stay at Silver Birch. The bed was extremely comfy and the tree house was really well equipped and well furnished. Hot tub was lovely to appreciate the views. Only minor points we would make would be the shower was a little disappointing compared to how luxurious everything else was. Also the spiral stairs to the hot tub felt quite loose, not the safest option. "
